Great ! Hey Brett do a demo of the new Mooer RADAR Cab Sim which you can load third party IRs also!

Looks great.. what about using this as well as an amp to get a stereo setup? So Left going to amp.. and right going the cabzeus then to FOH??

You will get latency - I think.

Hello, cabzeus or simplifire????

Burgs do you prefer hardware emulation like the CabZeus over speaker IR's? I'm coming at this from a recording angle, running my amps into a load box then going into my interface. I've gotten very good results this way (using Ownhammer IRs loaded into Recabinet 5) but I'm always looking to improve my setup. Would the CabZeus give me noticeably better results or would it be something of a lateral move? Great demo as always my friend!

Do I still need to buy a loadbox with something like this? Looking at getting either this or a two notes alternative to play through headphones at night and also record my amps direct. Really like the idea of stereo as I use 2 amps at all times!

Hi Brett. Since you have tried both what do you recon is better sound quality wise? The GFI Cabzeus or the ADA GCS? Digital or Analog? Personally, I don't care that much about the buzzillion options you get with the GFI software, but the sound. I find the GFI to be more organic and convincing/true, if that makes sense. Thanks.

So Brett, has Henry also sent you a Specular Tempus to try out?

burgs, do you prefer this kind of units for recording direct, or do you prefer plugins like torpedo wall of sound or other plugins? what are your thoughts?
@BrettKingman7 жыл бұрын
I'd go for this if I was using a preamp similar to the Mooer in the vid. Otherwise, I'd defer to my Fractal Audio gear and then Amplitube, Bias Amp and Guitar Rig for more experimental stuff. The code is so good these days it's sometimes hard to tell the difference between virtual and real. In many ways the digital alternatives offer greater choice, possibility and sound, but there's nothing like a good miked amp. If only they didn't weigh so much, cost so much, tubes didn't fail... :D
@ziggy87577 жыл бұрын
i agree with you, sometimes i feel theres something psychological about using physical units like pedals and amps...but digital stuff like plugins and emulators are getting very good this days....you know what, why not make a video about this interesting subject burgs?? that would be great...thats a great topic for a video
@mattgilbert73474 жыл бұрын
@@ziggy8757 It's not merely psychological. There's the fact that you don't only hear with your ears, and tube amp pushing a lot of air is just going to literally feel different than an emulation to mixer/FOH. The frequency response and latency issues do not escape the brain's attention! However, for DI - this is probably my fave of everything out there (perhaps a tie with the Iridium, which is IR-based unlike the GFI).

How does it compare to the Torpedo CAB Sim?
@endesp6 жыл бұрын
HI Brett Which device would you recommend for Strat+pedals+?+AKG-K240 semi open heaphone for home practising ? This one, or the Iconoclast, maybe the Two Notes Torpedo CAB. I have a Marshall MG15CF combo amp, but through the headphone the distorted sounds are terrible. I thought I should give a try to an ampless system. Thanks!!!
@mitahapsari49606 жыл бұрын
Hi Brett, can this sound adequately good in your daw, after your drive/distortions/pedals, without any sort of dedicated pre amp? Thanks

Great playing Brett, as usual, and some great tones. Can this be used as a load box? Does it provide the correct impedance to protect your amp if you're using the speaker out?
@BrettKingman7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, JD. No, not a load box. The 'Thru' outputs are provided to send continue the speaker cable path if you're running your amp's power-amp output into the Cabzeus. Impedance - I believe so, yes, but I'll take the final advice from Henry (GFI System) on that front.

Which one is better? Cabzeus or ADA GCS-5?
@kappachino25697 жыл бұрын
I can see that you're digging that mooer
@BrettKingman7 жыл бұрын
Yep. A lot easier than sticking a full-blown Mesa in your pocket. And considerably less expensive. :D

Brett Kingman and it sounds good, too!

The UK Gold is also really good.

The most important point that is not mentioned - If you are running a tube amp through it, you still need to hook to a load box or a speaker using the through.!!!!
@BrettKingman3 жыл бұрын
That's very true. Thank you for doing so.

Just to confirm, the output L and R of cabzeus must go into an audio interfacer and studio monitor right in order for the sound to come. Correct me if I am wrong.

you are correct

So you cannot go direct into a Mixer>Powered PA from the Cab Zeus?
@Andreorsel5 жыл бұрын
Matt Gilbert of course you can, that 's the way you can use it in a live situation. It even has balanced (XLR) DI outputs. So you can send a stereo signal with cab/mic sim direct to the Mixer/powered PA and if you want use the through to go to your own poweramp and speaker cab. The great thing is if you have a pedalswitcher with midi function or midiboard you can switch presets through midi. Cabzeus is the best!

It is only missing that ONE key Ingredient, the Abbey MODE or a bit of that Talented beatle Vibe. Now if it could simulate John Lennon's voice I would be all SET, hot dog!!!

Hi, my name is Adith from Indonesia. I need your help to decide what should i buy for my recording and gigging. At this time i have only a guitar, some pedals, and 1 preamp pedal like the mooer preamp. I was planning to buy Katana 100 amp for both recording and gigging, but then I saw this GFI Cabzeus. And I guess they are at the same price range. Which one do you recommend for me? I have limited budget, and I can only choose between them. I also like simple set up both for recording or gigging. And I play only 1 kind of music. Blues. I control the amount of the drive mostly by volume pot. So, usually i use only 1 kind of drive both for gigging and recording. So, it will be nice if you can give me some advice between these two. Thanks bro.

Why is it that on every pedal demo everyone has to be slamming blues licks. It really isn't the best way to show a products capabilities.
@joshuafernandes49355 жыл бұрын
why dont you make one a demo showing it the way you want to (rather than tell others how they should do a demo )? Lets see the best way to show a product capability !!!

In my experience, the cabzeus doesn't deliver when it comes to recording high gain tone. The IRs don't have the natural compression you'd get from a speaker driven at volume. Consequently, if you want a tone similar to Santana or Gary Moore, which stays put in a mix, then this won't do it. Okay for low gain and clean tones though.

It's not IR A Limiter at the end of the chain before yr preamp (or after) then to the GFI might assist.
