Just to answer a question I was asking myself, with info I got on the GFI website : Yes, this includes everything that was in the Specular Tempus, so aside from being a physically larger and somewhat more expensive pedal, this is a true successor and upgrade over the ST. Makes me glad I held off on buying a used ST so far.

I think the dual engine ability is the biggest difference eh? Cool pedal, love the idea!
@GizzyDillespee29 күн бұрын
I've gotten used to using both engines together on the Ventris pedal, such as a reverse reverb swell into a perfectly timed echo, with normal reverb afterwards (the echo algorithm also has a normal reverb section, using the top left and bottom right knobs on Ventris to shape it). I really liked the reverbs on Specular Tempus, so this new pedal (Solis Ventus? I'll have to check the spelling🤣) seems like a great switchup. Was thinking about Mercury X too. Tough choice.

It doesn't include everything currently (Jan 1 2025) - it's missing a number of algo's - GFI said they will be adding them in the future.. Two specifically that I enjoy and are not yet included are Swell and Infinity.

I am genuinely impressed by the way you approached writing this segment. Instead of just playing through presets, you demonstrated how this can be used in conjunction with other equipment to solve problems in creative ways. You're also the first person to show how to win with the effects loop on the Plus pedal. FWIW I do something similar with the Empress Echo System, which has a similarly flexible dual-engine routing system.

Man, i have just been thinging about a room full of marbles for 10 minutes now.
@Hermitthecog21 күн бұрын
But did you ever stop to wonder why marbles aren't made of marble? 🤔
@tombasportsАй бұрын
No one talks about your harp and the fact that you use it in a way that is brilliant. Yes you showcase pedals but you showcase the possibilities with the harp. This video solidified a purchase from me. The fact that you like it’s first iteration so much and now this one does whatbit does it’s a no brainer. I was thinking a h90 or a Strymon big sky mc 2:34 but this gfi Dec surprise has got me completely happy and floored

Those down pitched bass sounds are amazing. A fave trick when you have a daw or looper pedal handy: record a reverse reverb on its own then back it up before the actual note-gives every note a sweet swell that builds up to the actual note. So much great alchemy here.

I love my Specular Tempus, this sounds really good! The reverse algorithm is really nice withe the harp. I have to get one.

Regarding the delay time: I just found something on the algo manual after looking for a while... "Maximum delay time is 2200 ms, just like the other delay algorithms in Solis Ventus. Normally this maximum delay time can be extended (up to 4400 ms) by applying certain subdivision settings, however in Reverse delay 2200ms is the absolute maximum."

Thanks so much for showing the use of CV! I’ve been looking for examples. Can you assign the CV to adjust not just the effect overall but parameters of the effect?
@emilyharpist2Ай бұрын
yes! each algorithm has different parameters available that you can control with CV, so i don't think I can list them here but its more than just the mix!

Is it heresy if I prefer the Spatium and Infinity algorithms in my Specular Tempus over the Blackhole of the H9 for some applications?
@john808welkАй бұрын
I sold my h9 when I got the tempus 4 years ago and never looked back
@TheOligoclonalBandАй бұрын
@ I like both very much. The H9 can do so much. It’s just that I use the Specular Tempus mainly as my reverb now. The H9 is in use constantly still.

Sounds great, however - BOO, HISS menu diving! 😎🎸
@emilyharpist2Ай бұрын
im not big on menu diving either - devices that do a similar amount of stuff are far worse than this tho. its not bad once you spend like an afternoon with it but still yeah a little menu divey. Can't avoid it when you have something that does this much stuff

Nice : ) It's funny that when I see pedals that excite me, I immediately think -- well, this probably costs ~$xxx.xx .. and I've been extremely accurate with my estimates. (within +- 10$ on some 20 pedals so far)
