It's entertaining to see how you basically grinned through the first two MVs, and repeatedly stunned into silence in the next two. Yes, the girls have travelled long and far in their music journey. It's interesting you mentioned how Gfriend's early songs made you feel nostalgic with their concept, not something one often senses when watching MVs of the so-called cute songs of Kpop. Gfriend offers something genuine and endearing with their early concept popularly known as "Powerful Innocence", in which one feels positive for the future while enjoying the youthful energy of the present. Gfriend's delivery of songs of this era brings back memories from our younger days. Every time I watched their early MVs reminds me of the time when I was a teenager. There is a deep-rooted lore embedded in the Gfriend tracks. Not to spoil the fun too much, the last two songs stood to represent how the Gfriend girls accept (not succumb to) their own desire (rather than temptation as symbolized by the title Apple) and takes ownership of the reign of their own realm as shown at the end of MV. As for Mago, which could be interpreted as the Korean deity who helped the creation of the world), the girls become their own master in choosing their own path like the deity. If you plan to do more Gfriend reactions, you must not miss "Rough" and "Navillera", two of their most decorated songs in terms of music show wins during their peak era. I think you should also consider "Fingertip", a tune that injected funk into their sound for the first time. I'd also want to mention "Sunrise", which is true vocal feast from Gfriend. I miss Gfriend 🥲 Thank you for reacting to their music. I love these girls so much. Their music was what brought me to the fandom. It was just so unique and it stood out among their generation. Whilst everyone was releasing dance/edm type of music(which there’s nothing wrong at all!), Gfriend was doing sentimental/youthful, powerful innocent concepts. I just love it! 1st girl in tunnel is Sowon, blonde with hair dryer Yerin, pole girl Yuju can hit some mean notes Sinb is the short hair, your 3 BBG girls were together popping up in that 3some part, Eunha then Umji with Sinb coming in, sadly Mago was their finale to this day we still don't know why so you are aware the 3 BBG girls get their group name from their real and stage names ie Eunha n Sinbs names are Eunbi x2,(Bi Bi), Yewon ie stage name Umji (Ji) said together as BBG which is what they call their group name as. Gfreind as a group saved their company from going bankrupt their music is very iconic and filled with beautiful sounds and vocals, their harmony is so good

It's interesting to see Glass Bead and Megustas Tu, Apple and Mago. It was my first time seeing this in sequence that I have seen the contrast between the MVs. Looking back to GFRIEND's career, the concept switch was barely noticeable since they have done it in a gradual manner so it came natural and not forced.

and you basically nailed within the first 2 songs what the classic GFRIEND is. GFRIEND is the ultra rare kpop group that created their own sound/visual that no one else has or can even copy. When you hear a GFRIEND song, you know it's a GFRIEND song (lots of anime chord structures [just a lot of complex jazz chord structures in general], lots of crazy key changes and modulations, lots of string and piano counterpoint underneath the verse or chorus, the driving rhythm, the occasional screeching guitar) and you know GFRIEND choreo when you see it (insanely synchronized, very feminine, very pure) and GFRIEND visual (very hazy/dreamlike videos, school girl, girl friendship vibe, very innocent). GFRIEND truly was a very special group. And yes, Yuju is one of the best main vocalists period.....her belting is insane

I think I speak for most people when I say that their disbandment was a complete shock. For the fans and for the members too. Viviz + Yuju and Yerin as soloists are great but I still yearn for the day that Gfriend can properly reunite. At least Source Music have lost the trademark to the Gfriend name, so there's some hope! If you do a part 2, I recommend Rough, Fingertip, Time for the Moon Night (my personal favourite) and Crossroads! And if you want to check out some solo stuff, you could combine Yuju and Yerin into one video since they both don't have a ton of stuff yet. Something like Play and Dalala from Yuju + Aria and Bambambam from Yerin would be pretty cool :)

Gfreind have not disbanded according to each individual member. They have plans to come together and produce new tracks. The recently managed to retain the gfriend name after Hybe music tried to get ownership. Look out for the video of gfreind dancing at twice the speed.
