yo! great vids, have you thought about making a quick general guide to baiken in +r? I've been checking out dustloop but there arent really a lot of resources for this game other than that which is a damn shame considering how sick it is, also people like myself are more visual learners so examples of how thinks gattle or otg etc. work better learning things myself

Hey! The Oki guide is meant to be the first in a series of mini beginner guides. Life got pretty busy for a few weeks, but I'm back on it as of two days ago. I'm actually halfway done with the next video (on beginner "tech" that will serve as building blocks for the hard stuff). There are some simple combo examples there, but it won't be extensive. I'm trying to cover topics that aren't covered well by the Dustloop wiki first: - oki (done) - tech (in progress) - offense (blockstrings, strike/throw, mixups, etc) - defense (GCs, when not to use GCs, FD, fuzzy jump, etc) After that I may make a simple combo/conversion guide. I will say that the Dustloop wiki combo section is well laid out, has a beginner section, and has some videos. Give the combo page a visit if you haven't!

I'll also consider making a super short "Baiken in a nutshell" for people considering playing her, but it's impossible to fit everything into one easy to watch video, haha.

Hey, so quick question as I'm a bit confused by the inputs here: what are the basic motions for these? Is kire tatami the "23696k" motion I've seen ( i think of it as a 'tk iad' tatami if that makes sense), and the iad tatami is just an iad then tatami? Or am I mistaken on the differences between the two? Thanks for some fantastic guides that are to the point as well, and based on your prior comments I can't wait to see more :D

Well never mind, should've looked before I leapt to commenting because your tech guide covers this question perfectly! Seriously, this channel's a godsend for a new baiken/plus r player and everything feels way more approachable due to these kinds of community endeavors. It makes me excited to learn this stuff and start executing it, so once again thanks for these!

Thanks for the kind words! +R is my favorite fighter, and the mysticism surrounding it has always frustrated me. Too many people drop it because of perceived difficulty when it really just has a longer learning curve, not necessarily more difficult. If these videos keep even a single person playing long term, they're worth it for sure!

@@FGCZetta for real, I started with xrd but the reputation of it kind of made me bounce off it when I started struggling with some basic stuff (I was VERY new to fighters at the time), so hearing plus r was harder made me nope out of it so fast. Then rollback happened and I decided to take the plunge, and as I really sat down with it (and xrd) I was surprised how much everything seemed to flow together and things just worked! It really isn’t as bad as people make it out to be 😅
