TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is a 2005 first-person shooter video game developed by Free Radical Design and published by EA Games for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox video game consoles.
It is the third game in the TimeSplitters series, following TimeSplitters (2000) and TimeSplitters 2 (2002). The game features a single-player mode consisting of levels where the player assumes the role of Sergeant Cortez, a time-traveling marine from the 25th century, as he attempts to go to the past to save the future. The game also includes a range of multiplayer options including cooperative mode. Online play was included in both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions.

I prefer the first over Future Perfect. The simple arcadey fun is it's strength. This is one is good, but just a bit too linear, and set-piece heavy. TS2 is the best one, tho.

Sad but true Some of the best modern-ish games for value I've played have to be the souls games including bloodbourne
@fioredeutchmark
@fioredeutchmark 5 жыл бұрын
It’s sad but its a totally different industry with far more pros than cons imo. Personally I wouldn’t want to go back to the industry of the mid 00’s even though some of my favourite games come from this time period. The fact multiple titles at different price points come out nearly every month never mind the near constant sales of older games means I’m ok with a few being short on content. Add the fact we get far more reliable legacy support for titles in updates and patches after release and I’d say I’m pretty happy we’re here in 2019.
@britbong1457
@britbong1457 5 жыл бұрын
Fiore Deutchmark True, there's constantly lots of good indie titles being developed and we have a very wide spectrum of games for people now. I hate the fact that AAA games have become so stingy and repetitive.
@fioredeutchmark
@fioredeutchmark 5 жыл бұрын
Britbong that’s why I don’t play them until they reach a price point/content threshold I can abide. This happens a lot quicker now than in ‘05 *. The industry is currently struggling to find a balance for new ‘AAA’ games in this regard and i suspect we’ll see a lot more games go the way of the Call of Duty franchise and streamline into the most profitable modes they can. Hopefully this will mean some publishers take more risks in the future on other projects, protected by not having to make immediate substantial profits, and we can see a resurgence in series with more creativity and charm like Timesplitters. *edit I’m referring to reduced pricing as obviously content quantity/quality is going to be a lot more subjective to aggregate.

Like I said to the other high rated commenter who mentioned that, the idea of a modern reboot/sequel is both a dream and a physical manifestation of hell. I have no faith in THQ Nordic to not fuck it up with the usual dlc/microtransaction bullshit, made by a team of people who have no clue what made the original games some of the best ever made.

@@arandompasserby7940 Doesn't mean they can't do it justice. As an example, DOOM has no one from the original team and yet was a successful game. Also no idea about the THQ Nordic part, does Darksiders 3 have Microtransactions? The only game I've bought from them is TQ Anniversary and it had one DLC which wasn't that great but it also wasn't a cashgrab.

this is one of my favorite games, i got it when it came out I was 15. me and my buddies would get together every weekend and played this, the multiplayer had sooooo many things you could tweek to make this game almost infinitely replayable, one of our favorites, me and my buddies against an entire team of monkeys with their difficulty maxxed with a custom load out of shotguns only. I unlocked almost everything now 13 years later i get into game collecting and pick this up on ps2. Me and my buddy sit down to play and we were both like "well damn nothings unlocked", fire the game up and low and behold the game is 98% complete the one memory card i still had from then had my old save file on it. This game means alot to me.

" the multiplayer had sooooo many things you could tweek to make this game almost infinitely replayable," Goddamnit, this. You could create so many scenarios with the sheer amount of customizability in multiplayer. I still have my copy from back then.(though it's scratched to hell) I remember when I finally got around to playing this fabled game everyone was talking about called "Halo" and being appalled at how little you could do in regards to multiplayer. I was so confused as to how it was a household name but TimeSplitters was not.

@NotChukkov
@NotChukkov Жыл бұрын
One of the appeals of these games was sitting around playing with mates. Playing any of the game modes was fun, though it's important to note that in campaign co-op they removed a lot of sequences where in singleplayer your partner had highly (or medium) scripted things to do; which is a shame because some of them were cool and it also makes for a much shorter game (No rescuing the captain's girlfriend in Mission 2, no sniper sequence in Russia, yadda) Another thing you didn't mention was the mapmaker, which if you knew what you were doing (and of course had mate/s to play with) could produce results much more fun than the actual maps. For example I made a map designed for Virus where you all start on one end and have to get to the other end where a few safe rooms were, but the button in the safe room locks and unlocks someone else's door, not your own; so it was up to you to make an alliance with another player, then decide whether to betray them to win or just run out the clock and share equal place. And TSFP let you use online mode to share/download/play custom maps, so if you weren't very creative you could always download the best of someone else's maps. Mapmaker alone gave me months of playtime back in the day

I remember playing this for countless hours with my best friend. We still bring up stories of the fun and adventures we would have playing it. Definitely a gem both in playability and presentation, even on how dated it looks compared to modern games. Not only that but a time where you would get a full loaded game both in content and playability. No pre order bonus, dlc, online only...man....definitely something missed.

The problem with getting a remaster is the studio got brought by Crytek, who while working on Homefront the license got brought by Deep Silver, and the staff moved to a new studio owned by Deep Silver. So I have no idea where the source code is and THQ now apparently owns the IP.
