Yes I put it in an eth base by mistake I said that in the video I would not recommend putting it in an eth base if you plan to use it on a character. Only an eth base for a mercenary

Mancatcher is one of the fastest spear bases but has lower physical damage which doesn’t really matter for this build.

it's THE fastest base actually. however you might want to use a matriarchal spear, since they can roll +3 to jav/spear skills as a staffmod

The one thing that I wish you discussed is - BEFORE infinity what do you do? What would the the 2nd/3rd BIS weapon (or cheaper options) that would sorta work. Are these even remotely viable in p3 hell?

Same as any other infinity based build. You have to skip those L immune mobs. But good side is you have your Valkyrie, if you max her out, you can let her tank, and kill the mobs with all kind of weapon. Valkyrie can solo hell Diablo , not sure if she can solo Baal…. But hell Baal is always difficult when you don’t have enough gears……

I feel like you would need treachery or maybe andy visage to make it more reasonable. And yea you might have to sink that +3 skills for a faster base too, you loosing more DPS than you gain from it. Could also use fanaticism on merc.

I really wish there were more items with oskills for quirky off kilter builds,maybe if uniques get a rebalance some of the charge items could become oskills-no one builds around charges,they suck. At least have charges regenerate over time. Imagine a viable corpse explosion bonehew barb! I'm trying one out with dual bonehews to "reload ammo" and a corpsemourn but it just doesnt feel as good as it could-toooooooo many trips back to town. Passion is a cool runeword but I wish it had a big brother better suited to the endgame, something for all the meleemancers, enchantresses,passivezons etc to drool over and grind for.

Lol an earlier incarnation of the character had widowmaker on the main hand and bonehew on switch just for the sake of not really using any of his native skills. Good opportunity to max ironskin,nat res and stamina I guess lol. Passivebarb isnt too fun....I later set him up as a 1hko leapattacker who causes explosions and that was more gratifying haha.

I think Conviction will be better on the player then on the Merc. Because A2 Mercs are very slow so they lag behind the character a lot and it takes time for the aura to pulse so it took a while for the aura to actually take effect. But because you don't have the Merc lagging behind I think it'll be easier to get the aura on the monsters you're fighting.

How does the "-52% enemy lightning resistance work"? Does this apply when you enter melee range with them? Damage them? Attack them? Do you know the details?

Any attack made by the user of the weapon and only for the user. For instance you would not get the effect of your Merc used the item. Similarity trap assassins can't use the effect because technically traps are minions and do not get the bonus

Anyone tested running Infinity Zon Spear with an A5 frenzy merc using Plague / Grief for the Lower Resist procs that would stack withConviction? I think Plague will be the starter go to for lightning type builds that need the Res Cap break prior to making infinity.

Lower Resistance and Conviction do stack on non immunes. On Immunes they both function at 20% effectiveness.

One thing to note, act5 merc have high defense, so lower resist might not proc as often as you would like.

Because infinity doesn't work in spears until 2.4 drops thus the 2.4 PTR in the title. Hold on to it, when 2.4 drops I believe it will turn into an infinity when the patch hits. You just jumped the gun a bit

I accidentally made it into an eth base obviously not the best choice lol as it would eventually break and be gone forever and it did. The testing wasn't testing phys I damage anyway so it doesn't have any bearing on the test.
