The thorns from gems amount was too low you need to use rubies for life. It sucks cause you obviously want as much thorns as possible but thorn builds are also heavily reliant on life. You’re also actively trying to get hit so the razorplate really needs some damage reduction or a bunch of life on hit some kind of defensive stat.

rubies for life is also gone lol, as of patch 2.0. So thorns gems gone, Life Gems gone, your only choice now is main stat gems.

I wonder if thorns gets upgraded by additive straight damage upgrades, or damage to close or distant, or does it proc life on hit? I know it does by multiplicative aspects.

I spent months getting one of those when the game came out. Had fun with it. Last time I logged in, it says legacy and it’s worthless now. Never playing D4 again.

Game has undergone 5 or 6 reworks since then, for the better it's worth a second chance tbh. But I would wait for the exspansion
