Had the same 'thing' on my Single-player Barbarian where I could easily run WSK-Nightmare on P8 solo but Hell act 1 on P1 was a struggle :P

Hit Level 30, equip one in each hand, use Whirlwind, and... yeah. While not endgame material, these swords do have a very, very sweet spot.

Upgraded to Falcatta, they are indeed fine for endgame blades. Although not the best, they can work nicely.

This was a great weapon for speed leveling and running through NM. You could add no points to strength and get melee characters to the 70s. Back when you could not just reset a character, it let you wait to Hell before you decided what build you wanted to use.

@@GGMentor Sorry for overhyping it, just a silly thing, where at around 13:40 your barbarian got accidentally stuck intercourse (etimologically, between a run) with a scantily leather clad demon, and while he wanted out, the overlord just wouldn't let it because of the mana being whipped out of the barbarian. He forgot the safe word I guess. Not sure if this is a KZbin-friendly scenario to describe 😅 but that's what seemed to happen.

yeah this sword is awesome! This ladder I leveled up a barb and was just starting out to be a frenzy barb but then one of these dropped and I decided to see how WW was. It was so good I decided to go hybrid WW / Frenzy and ended up putting around 10 hard points into WW. I was OP leveling all thru NM and the beginning of Hell until I could equip a Greif and a Death and I never even upgraded it.

I use two bloodletters to bridge the gap until i can use my throw weapons that have lvl 55 req. so i cant feasibly use double throw, but i get lots of points in blade mastery and whirlwind without spending actual points. It keeps me going through nightmare easily. Deal with the mana drain with the nightsmoke belt. Works decently well currently

I use this sword as a paladin zealot mod to high lvl since I have nothing better, great damage attack speed and life steal is exactly what I need anyway

one correction. in the latest d2r patch ww starts at positive ed, and they reduced the per level ed

Yes which is why I pointed out several times that the higher your skill level the less it does for you. Both due to the diminishing returns on blade mastery, and whirlwind.

@@GGMentor which is terrible. If they want to make melee really viable compared to casters they shouldnt cap their masteries (the dmg effecting ones). Sure slow it down but every point should give at least a 10% dmg increase. Between 86 and 99 you dont really get stronger besides min maxing on gear on most builds anyway.

Durability for science: 12:34 the sword has 18 of 54 15:50 the sword has 10 of 54

I think the durability reset when I upgraded them which is pretty common. because if you roll back the tape to 1:51 you will see the durability was full before upgrading. then after they were upgraded at 11:34 they dropped to 18. A Negative consequence of the upgrading process it seems.

My only gripe about this one is in spite of it being called Bloodletter it has no open wounds mod. It's a very good sword overall but I really wished it did cause uncontrollable bleeding.

The falcata is a badass design. It is from Iberia ( what Spain was called before it was called Spain.) The blade design gives it cleaving potential like an axe while still having a speed closer to a sword. The Greek kopis is very similar so it's not uncommon to mix the two unless you're a big history buff. And I apologize in advance if it sounds like a lecture. Swords are a bit of a niche conversation piece.
