She went after Spencer for many reasons, and that includes her jealousy of Trina, Spencer's rejection of her, Spencer loving Trina and not her, Spencer's commitment to Trina. Spencer giving Ace to Nikolas just gave her an excuse to target him for all the reasons I have stated, and then justifying it by using the fact that Ace was gone as a pretense. This is the same Esme who after regaining her memory told Heather that she was justified in everything she did to Joss, Cam and Trina (she told Heather this weeks before Spencer decided to give Ace to his father. That means despite her apology to Trina and the false promise that she would take responsibility for her crimes past and present, she actually had no intention of taking responsibility for her crimes... creating the possibility that she would be eyeing Trina as a target all over again because Trina owned Spencer's heart). This is also the same Esme who violently hit Kevin over the head for no reason. What exactly did Kevin do to deserve that violent act that could have killed him! Ace was not born through Esme's effort alone (in fact, she seduced Nikolas while she was still with Spencer because she was happily doing her daddy's bidding). It took 2 people to create Ace, and Nikolas is the contributor of the Y chromosome that produced him (XY = boy, XX= girl). Nikolas posed no danger to Ace, and even Heather pointed that out to Esme. Esme calculatingly chose revenge and violence over going to the police, and she sealed her own faith. As Kevin said, Esme chose the worst possible solution to the situation. She decided to go all psychotic by drugging Spencer and threatning to kill Trina. Esme's choice to use violence instead of the police is proof positive that Spencer was justified in giving Ace to his father.

I love that Trina was able to get out of her restrains to rescue Spencer. I'm sure it was Taggert that taught her to free herself if she was in any danger , but did wish the fighting scene was more and that it lasted longer. When Trina freed herself from where she was that's probably where she found the wrench. Glad Spencer was proud of her for being his hero not every woman has to be the damsel in distress , but when they were free they should have taken the wrench and the syringe. Plus lock the door behind them the lock was still there when it was the haunted star. There was no way Esme would have caught up to them if she was tied up and the door was locked.

You're right about Esme not catching up with them if they had locked the door. However, I guess the writers had to do it that way to allow Spencer's exit for his Netflix movie. You know it's funny that you said that the ship was the haunted star, and you are absolutely right. It did not dawn on me until I saw the lock outside the door. I had to laugh because the writers tried to pass it off as some sort of luxury yatch. 😂😂😂

Her fixation on Trina, which never went away even with amnesia, ratcheted up with the return of her memories. They should’ve just let her admit the truth, she’s upset Spencer didn’t want her. So her goal was to make him and Trina suffer.

💯 The show is trying to hold on to whatever viewers they can, caring less about the writing and more about getting their own obsessions off in the writers room. I would have certainly preferred her being a villain, or given her some redeeming quality because many opportunities were missed. They instead went the cheap trope route.

She is all about “property rights.” She was out to settle a score. Telling LAURA, and having her pull some strings to get ACE back was a better way of keeping him close for the long term. Plus, if she demonstrated good judgment and behavior, it would have gone a long way to lessen her prison sentence. Instead, she went full-on “crazy attack.” Bye, ESME.🌬️

@@joiisler8986 it wan’t a stupid idea… just not properly executed. The bigger problem was that the writers wouldn’t make a clear decision about her motivations. If she really cared about love and/or possession over her son, then the eye for an eye works. If it was just about jealousy and revenge against Spencer and Trina then they definitely should have gone a different route. (Like her shooting Spencer and him falling off the boat. Trina and her fight for the gun. It goes off and we realize the next day that Esme was hit). So many ideas would have worked, the writers just need to decide on the same motivation.

You can tell that the scenes were rushed because there were too many packed dialogues all at one time. They should have devoted more screen time to the Sprina scenes because they knew Spencer was going to be loss at sea and presumed death, making his time with Trina that much more crucial and a turning point in their relationship. The writers could have done better, but it seems that they are writing these scripts in their sleep.

The twins are adorable but I already knew what time it was when they gave Esme a baby. They need to do a DNA test to determine Ace is no Cassadine -nthat is the only way to save the these story arcs for Nik and Spencer...otherwise Esme will do a Heather and pop up when she needs to.
