Crazy and obsessed Cassadines. I guess that dark and obsessive Cassadine trait is definitely rearing its ugly head in Spencer now. Stefan was one of the more easy- going Cassadines and yet his love of Nicholas bordered on near obsessive. He practically dedicated his entire life to Nicholas and his love life took back seat to his nephew.

Spencer has a co-dependant and extremely unhealthy relationship with Ace. It's loving and brotherly but borders on obsession. And it's tied up in his own psychological journey: all about what he went through with Nikolas, , what he wanted in his life and didn't get. It actually has NOTHING to do with Ace. Who won't even remember any of this period of his life when gets older. Spencer needs therapy asap, Trina and more healthy, boundary defined relationship with Ace.

I know a lot of fans say Spencer’s obsession with ace stems from abandonment issues but what I see is typical cassadine traits like obsessions with people or things showing up in spencer. It’s really concerning seeing spencer pretty much get in Kevin’s face when Kevin was just trying to state the obvious and that is he is not aces father. What’s also concerning is that spencer doesn’t see that esme only now is becoming independent since his trip with Trina has already happened. Prior to nyc esme couldn’t do anything herself including caring for ace now she wants to attend doctors appointments because she is ace is mother and can care for him best. I can see spencer becoming so consumed by this strange obsession that he looses Trina because he marries esme to keep his place in Esme’s life. The gh writers are forcing this spencer wants to make sure ace isn’t abandoned nonsense so they can hide behind the fact that they never really intended on making spencer and Trina the endgame viewers thought they would be.

@@marshagreen9759 Yes the controlling men in Cassadine history goes all the way back to Laura. She abandoned Nikolas on Cassadine Island to go back to Luke in the 80s and Stephan Cassadine helped to raise Nikolas as a infant and I believe he was instrumental with keeping Laura away from him for years until he was a teenager. The Cassadine men love to take the kids away from the mothers and raise them alone. They have no regard for the mothers/women. Just as Victor disregarded Esme like an afterthought when he kidnapped Ace. The Cassadine men only care about male heirs and keeping their lines going. The women/mothers in the baby's lives don't really matter. Now, for Spencer it seems they are going more the abandonment/daddy issues route in the telling of this story, but that is still a thread in this storyline that goes back decades.

GH writers please let go of this. Have Nik come back on some anti-hero villain arc where he terrorizes Esme and starts reclaiming his life (specifically with Spencer, Wyndemere, and Laura exclusively - not Ace). Nik’s presence should force Spencer to confront his severe daddy issues and abandonment issues and restore Esme’s memory. While Esme’s memory is restored she is pretending to still have amnesia but turning back into the villain the story needs. Once people catch on about Esme (and they WILL), Nik reveals that was his plan all along as he wants/wanted to help Spencer get justice by revealing the truth of Esme’s character. In his terrorization, he was secretly gathering information and did a DNA test. This heals a part of Spencer’s broken heart in regards to this father which is necessary because Nik also reveals that Ace is NOT a Cassadine. In Nik’s time away he realized that Ace was not his son, which explains why Nik was in no rush to return to Port Charles and why he terrorized Esme upon his return. Make Nik like his the man who raised him, Stefan, a Cassadine who ruins their own good intentions but LOVES his family. End this with NAC being able to take his break because Nik takes Spencer on a much needed trip around Europe learning about the Cassadine legacy - the way Nik did growing up, training in martial arts, riding horses, lording over castles etc. (while sending Trina letters to update her about what he’s learning and how he’s bonding with not only his father, but his heritage)

First, thank you for this prompt posting. Second, I have to admit that Spencer's undying love and commitment to Ace is finally getting me to a point of concern that I never had before. How adamant Spencer is in being a part of Ace's life makes me feel that the only way he and Trina will ever have any kind of life together is if Ace proves not to actually be a Cassadine. I hate how my mind turned to the most horrible outcome that it could and that is Spencer just being a brother has absolutely no say so in the raising of Ace (which seems to bother him every time he is reminded of this by either Trina, Kevin, or even Esme herself) and the only way he could work around that is to become Ace's parent either through an adoption or through a marriage of convenience to Esme. Spencer has a way of leaping first and not caring about the outcome until later. He could be callous and immature enough to think that Trina in her love for him would go along with this as he explains it to her either BEFORE or AFTER he has undertaken the deed of marrying Esme. I truly hope that is not where this is leading because if it is then Trina should break up with Spencer for good and I will promptly stop watching and supporting them as a couple. GH IF that is where you are trying to take this storyline then that is most foul. 😠

It is just this dumb storyline I mean if he really wants to be Ace’s father then get back with Esme adopt Ace and be his father and leave Trina. Trina's heart will break if he does this, and I think she might go dark on him. Later Spencer will find out that Ace is not his brother and that he didn't listen to Trina, she will not be waiting for him. That he may get fed up with being reminded that he has no say which in turn he will make a bad decision and step up to be Ace’s father and get with Esme to lock it in. Then in his ridiculousness he will inform Trina that it is just for show and wants to keep their relationship going but hide it turning her into the side piece. In that case why did GH kill Rory…he could have been in a coma or just left. They killed Rory to put her with Spencer for one night in the sack so she could lose her virginity to put him back with Annabelle but add a baby. Why make Spencer the brother if really wanted him to be the father this storyline is BS. There was a chance to make him the father and he could have a say and whatever Trina would still be with Rory. This is utter nonsense and back a**wards of a story. At this point give the Beautiful Black Princess a real Prince so she can give Spencer the boot. And give Spencer his ex gf Annabelle it is who he really wants and his brother to raise as his son.

Thank you for loading this because this is up for debate. While I'm not happy with the way Spencer seems to be obsessing, let's talk about Ms. ESME. I'm sick of this character and this storyline. She is hell-bent on being a family unit until Spencer doesn't bend to her will. She was perfectly fine with going to Kelly's just the three of them but she HAD to remind him that she's Ace's mother because she's low key booty hurt he went to NYC and was visiting Trina. Esme did that on purpose, and both Trina and Kevin provided sound advice that Spencer is ignoring. His persistence to provide this faux family unit is dangerous because, in Esme's mind, it is Ace, Spencer (her man/baby daddy), and herself. Trina once again is placed in a dangerous situation where Esme feels she must remove her. Spencer's action will come back and bite him square in the axx. He thought the revenge porn and framing Trina was bad. Esme is going to up her antics much higher than before. Unfortunately, there will be major ramifications left when Esme does her damage again in Port Charles. Laura, Alexis, Gregory, and Portia all have given Esme an ear and a pass. I'm ready for Ace and Esme storyline to wrap up, but GH writers have a way to drag a storyline cause Nell and Peter were on longer than anyone wanted them to be.

Trina showed she didn't give a dam if Esme was a good mom or not, her concern was their relationship. She broke it down to him and was blunt in telling him. That’s the storyline I WANT SO BAD!! But they wouldn’t DARE give SPRINA fans the satisfaction of having that outcome. GH hates Trina and Spencer. I don’t care about New York. New York is a lot like Sonny and Nina’s wedding. Doing all of these amazing things for them as a couple isn’t to make them a stronger couple or to give them a happily ever after… it’s just so the fall out between Trina and Spencer can be 10 times Worse- Thats all New York was. I didn't agree with Spencer's behavior with Kevin not only is Kevin his grandfather by proxy of being married to his grandmother AND he is Esme and baby Ace's actual blood uncle since she IS the daughter of his twin, Ryan he is also a certified therapist, and he should have shown him the respect he is due on all those fronts. However, in that instance Spencer reverted to the entitled brat he had always been as a kid.

Looking back at old episodes, I came up with another reason why Spencer is so determined to be close to Ace. Yes he doesn’t wants him to have a father figure and doesn’t want him to feel abandoned like he did, but I think another major part is that he feels responsible for Nic not coming home. He threatened him with the information he got from Ava. The cops have information about him holding Esme, but Nic confessed to throwing her off the parapet. Now that I think about it, did he say when? Does Spencer think he did it when she escaped from Wyndemere or does he know that was back when she disappeared after the trial? Either way, besides the deep seated feelings of abandonment, there are feelings of guilt too b

Spencer has major daddy issues. I think his obsession with stepping up to play the father role to Ace is his subconscious way of trying to prove to himself that he's a better man and can be a better father to Ace than Nikolas. It's like he's trying to recreate the life he wanted as a child of having an active father and living vicariously through Ace by playing daddy. It's actually scary, and weird to see, and Spencer needs intense therapy. Everybody keeps telling him he's not the father but he's not budging and if he doesn't get it together it will be at the expense of his relationship with Trina. I think Trina will give him an ultimatum it's her or Ace and Spencer will choose Ace. They'll probably temporarily break up, Nikolas will come back to step up, and they'll all probably find out Ace ain't even a Cassadine to begin with 😂

The gag is, Nikolas was an active father when Spencer was a child. Spencer wants to conveniently forget that. Spencer didn’t go away to boarding school until he was older and Nikolas was presumed dead (after Valentin shot him- how everyone forgets). The clips literally exist on YT lol Nikolas was always there for Spencer, now he’s being re-written as an awful father. Allowing Spencer to think he was dead was wrong, however, that doesn’t erase everything that came before. Spencer just doesn’t want to let go of his anger.

The more Spencer acts like this the more I feel like Trina will walk away. He already isn't listening to what she's saying and Kevin is saying the same thing , but Trina is going to notice and Spencer will lash out at her and say that he feels like he has to choose. Things will hit Spencer hard when Esme decides to move out of Laura and Kevin's ; either live upstairs at Kelly's or find an apartment for her and Ace either way its going to leave him lost and confused. If its true that the regular writers are back then that means that Nicholas Chavez will be leaving soon to do his movie. They can write that Esme decides to be more independent, moves out, and doesn't lean on Laura, Kevin, and Spencer. Then that gives Spencer an out and he can decide to leave town for awhile to figure out who he is and what does he want for his future. He could tell Trina that he loves her and he wants her in his life and his future , but he needs to go and figure things out , so when he returns he is the man she loves and see a future with. If not then they can write Trina deciding to walk away until he realizes that he's becoming obsessive over Ace and needs to step back and let Esme really raise Ace. Then he can focus on his relationship with Trina.

He tried to put that on her on Thursday and she broke it down to him. He was pissed and he latched out, but she was very blunt with him and stood her ground with him. Trina does have goals and she really loves Spencer, but she can't and will not put up with this Esme drama any longer. She can deal with Ace (he is a baby) but with this baby mama drama, she wants no part. I love them as a couple, but they have had too much friction for a young couple. Will Spencer be happy with Esme as his girlfriend again (heck no) but will he put up with it to be around Ace (most likely)? He will lose Trina and find out later that Ace is not his brother, and he lost his best friend and true love (Trina).

I see where the writers are going with this. Esme Will be in the forefront. She never lost her memory. She has been manipulating everyone from the beginning. Starting with Laura allowing her to stay at her home with Ace. It was so she could be close to Spencer.I remember that episode, when she said, I wonder what’s keeping your brother (Spencer was at the elevator with Trina). This is classic manipulation (taught to her by her dad). Trina is getting set up by the writers. Trina is telling Spencer the truth but his is already in Esme’s clutches. Esme has pretended to be this newly reformed , nice , young lady and baby mama, and Spencer has sucked it up. And if you look at it very close, she used Ace almost every time (except when Dex beat Spencer up). It is clear that the writers are breaking up Spencer and Trina because Spencer is too obsessed with Ace, he is defending Esme, and getting angry with Kevin and Trina.

This story is something….At this point, I’m ready to see what happens when Nikolas comes back. Because until then I can’t really predict where this will go. But I truly dislike every direction this could possibly take. Not just for the characters and Sprina, but for NAC. This story has been a waste of his talents. Even if it suddenly flips and becomes decent, they still spent the better part of the last 8 months(minus Greenland/NYC) having him obsess over a baby. So thank god he has that project to look forward to once the actors strike is over bc GH has squanders his skill set. We’ll see where this goes. I don’t trust Frank or the writers. My only hope is we see a turnaround quickly bc we’ve been dealing with amnesia esme for over ten months and that baby for 8. Until then, I think I’m going to do a rewatch of some of Sprina’s better story arcs.

I’m sad for Spencer. 😔 Sad that he’s so damaged and blinded that this is all he can see for himself. He’s spiraling, which could be a good thing if it means movement in this damn story. I really hope they bring Nikolas back and soon cuz this whole storyline with Spencer and Ace is getting ridiculous I know his intentions are good but what is gonna happen if or when Nikolas does come back;Then things really will get interesting but so far this whole storyline with Spencer and Ace is getting boring ;they need to get Spencer to move out and get his own place already and start acting like the kids brother and not his father

I can’t stand Spencer. I know a lot of people give him slack because of his looks but looks do fade and they way he treats Trina is BS. I truly hope people stop defending him when he does the slightest little jester to Trina then all seems forgiven until the next BS thing he does. These writers and FV for (GH) Got Spencer acting like he can't be with out his brother. Ace. Okay I guess these writers and FV were trying to find some way. For SPRINA to be Happy for a weekend. I guess we can say that. So all the SPRINA Fans. Can finally be Happy for the Beautiful couple. We will let Spencer take. Trina on a romantic trip to NYC. Which was wonderful. They both tell each other. I ❤ you. Had Dinner went to see a show made ❤ for the 1st time. Had breakfast before they left. To come back to (PC). Get back Spencer takes Trina back over to her mom Poria and Curtis home. Spencer goes back to his (GM) Laura's house. Where her and Kevin have returned back from. Looking for Nikolas. When Spencer says. Ive missed you grandmother. Than Esme walks in says Oh you back. The look on Esme and Laura face was priceless. Especially when he was telling them about his trip to NYC with Trina. They didn't want to here about his romantic trip to NYC with Trina. But Kevin didnt mind hearing about it. He even told Spencer that it was good for him and Trina to get away. And have some alone time together. Kevin was Happy for them. Not so much Esme and Laura. This is when everything hit the FAN. When Laura told Spencer. That his father might still be alive. Now everything for SPRINA went from being Awesome to Oh Hell Naw. My father is alive. I can't concentrate. On Trina right now. Think about our plans and future together. Since I know my father is out there somewhere alive. I ❤ you. But also love Ace too. These writers for GH. Sure know how to mess up a Good Thing. For SPRINA. Now Im guessing there going to make. Spencer can not be out his brother Ace. He wants to know all about his doctor's appointment (s). Ok Spencer when is this going to sink into your head. If Esme wasn't pregnant or had a baby by Spencer's dad Nikolas or who ever she had the baby by. Spencer would not be acting like this towards Ace. If Esme didnt get pregnant and have a baby. He would be all up in Trina's face. Syndey the old Trina/ Taby the new Trina. He wouldn't even be thinking about Ace. Like he doing now. His first priority would be Trina. I remember one episode. When Joss had asked Spencer. Why wasn't he with Trina. He said because of Portia. Trina mom. Than I remember him saying. Trina will always be my number 1 priority. Spencer are you going back on your word. Because its seems to me. That Ace is your number one priority right now. I know you ❤ Trina. But you need to wake up Spencer. Your living in a fantasy world.
