Man, I miss these days. Back when General Hospital was so exciting to watch and I couldn't wait to get home from school to watch each episode. I would be so disappointed when Luke and Laura were not in it, but still loved the show. GH will never be as exciting again. And, Laura was so gorgeous. Never has there been an actress since then that can rival her beauty.

WoW, lightening in bottle!! And here I am, 40 years later watching this again and its even better than when I was 10 yrs old! Would rush home from school to see GH @ 3pm everyday! I've gone down this rabbit hole and just cant stop now. "So much UN-finished "business" between us" Wowsers!! The dialogue, the chemistry, just......nothing like it before on TV or after !! Smoldering. Nothing can touch Luke and Laura! Some got close, like Holly, but nope. Wishing this kind of love really existed takes your breath away watching it. Such a gem. Love both of these actors. STILL a huge fan of both. Thank you both to Anthony Geary and Genie Francis. I'm even watching any and all interviews with them I can find. And to Anthony Geary in Amsterdam, you deserved more than 8 Emmy's!! Genie was robbed, just 1, pfffffft. And Anthony G stayed SO handsome. Still is. Would love to see him in anything else, his acting is that good. He's in his late 70's now, and I would still watch. Still a fan.

I just want to thank you for posting these clips of Luke and Laura. I was only two years old when this was originally aired, so I missed all the fun. Was 17 when this happened. I got early dismissal so I could rush home to see them. I know many make fun of these soap shows, but this couple was so good, watching Luke just fall in love with her, and her feelings changing, feeling more about Luke. Scotty treated her like a girl, wanting her to stay home, just keep her wings clipped. Luke treated her like a woman, wanting her to break free, be the woman he saw in her, to make choices. He got jealous when she made mistakes, claiming her feelings were not as he thought, but we all knew that was lip service. He got mad at her when she fell into that dependent person on Scotty. Scotty I never cared for. He acted like a boy. Luke was a man, Laura was a woman with him, not a teenager. He even got mad when she fell back into her teenager ways. Luke made Laura more beautiful and she made him more handsome. They just were a special couple who brought romance into our lives again.

Oh wow. When you were 28 you could even see then. I was a teen when these aired. You literally had to run home after school to catch just the tail end. There was no VCR or DVR back then. The love, passion & obsession that Luke had for Laura and that she ultimately had for him was so exciting (for t.v.). The saddest part is when we the viewer had to be given the impression that it ultimately ended. I wanted always for their love to be like this. Even when they weren't together and/or with someone else I wanted the writers to give us the nod & wink that their hearts still only belonged to eachother.

seventiesization There were many of us that did not go to school for two days in 81 when L & L got married. Over 30 million people watched it world wide. More than Charles & Diana wedding. Did you know Diana was a fan of L & L and sent them a present for their fake wedding on TV. Diana was a huge fan of L & L. Tony Geary dated Elizabeth Taylor during the time she was on the show. 😊 Tony was a ladies man, and he enjoyed a few of the ladies on the show, and off the show.

Wow. I saw first saw these scenes when I was 11 years old. Back then, I couldn't have understood the depth of Luke's obsession or the strength of the bond between them. This episode feels like the turning point in their relationship, because now Luke can see and feel Laura's response to him. Thanks so much for posting. It's nice to view these scenes as an adult and really feel what these characters were going thru.

IMO they are the only super couple. Whether it is Jasam, Liason or any other couple, and as popular as they were, no couple even comes close to the fame that these two had. Time magazine cover, their names mentioned in prime time TV shows, huge and I mean HUGE crowds at meet and greets. Wow, they were something else.

Actually they started BEFORE "Night At The Disco". The sexual tension built up for almost a year before Night At The Disco. Sadly 90% of those episodes were lost to film reuse, and even having to go LIVE til at least 1979. You will never see GH Bloopers because if they screwed up they had to ad-lib and keep going. Nothing stopped filming!!! Even after L&L made GH millions, and Millions themselves film was NOT a priority!! When ABC gave GH all the money and treated them as well as a night time show, that money had to be used to pay the actors, and as you recall they had a LOT of great actors on the show, not just L&L. Thou they were the biggest draw

Luke kept telling Laura to go home because he knew (Or thought he knew at the time) his life was over. The ONLY thing he wanted for so long was Laura. We were already deeply in love with his love for Laura, we could feel his pain everytime he saw Laura & Scotty together. We saw Laura falling hard for him as well. The question was not IF it was going to happen. But Where, when & how was it going to happen. Though Lord knows Gloria Monty (The famous Producer) shocked the hell out of all of us!. She WARNED the cast...By this time tomorrow we will be the biggest thing in tv history OR they will run us out of town on a rail. But even she admitted she did not expect the response to be complete chaos. The day of the wedding Nov 1981 I wish I had stopped an taken photos of all the store front signs on my way to work. I was raised in W.P.B. Fl and all these store fronts changed their signs announcing the wedding. All the local radio stations stopped playing music for 2 days between 3pm-4pm, and instead ran the show over the radio. Even all the local schools caved by noon and canceled all classes because the teachers were all calling out and students were not showing up for classes.To this day it is the 2 highest rated days in daytime tv history (NOT just Sop history). Even Princess Di sent letters of congrats and bottles of Champayne . Liz Taylor and a LOT of other big movie stars made appearances on the show, and many future big stars got their first gigs during this period of General Hospital. Everyone wanted to be on the show. Oh it was such a time of wonderful memories and I'm glad my Mom got me sucked in. Even our Boyfriends were sucked in. The days of RUNNING home from the bus stop and slidding in the door at exactly 3pm, with my friends. L&L consumed the lives of young girls and boys across the Country from age 10-to our grandparents. Sorry for going on so long. I just wish more video was available today from back then. . You should watch "Luke & Laura Day of Reckoning" watch Parts 2-4. I feel that it really tells the way things happened that night and why. The way L&L confront what happened that night is how WE as viewers saw it.

This is one of the scenes where I thought Scott had it all figured out when he was watching Laura watching Luke and Jennifer. Nothing was ever mentioned about it so I guess he didn't really suspect anything. Boy was he oblivious! Of course Laura kissed Luke back. She wrapped her arms around him!!

Boy, were things that bad between them. So hard to imagine that. I’m sure somewhere along the line one or both of them took the words that were spoken out of context. Often when people are mad with each other or really hurt, they hear comments differently, then other folks chime in and make matters worse. This is one of those 'duh' moments for Scotty. Scenario: Laura stands on the dance floor, staring over at Luke, and then turns to look at her husband, who is watching her just stand there looking back & forth and then she runs off. As much as this STORY is flawless......the little things like that make you wonder if it was written that way, or they just kept taping. I know, it seems menial. I have noticed a few times when Laura's actions or words went right over his noggin', LOL..... not liking Scotty for his controlling ways proves what a great actor he was on here. Such a great soap then. Laura has her last day, everything tied up, etc.. Then they just fall backwards. I liked when Bobbie came in, asking what happened, Laura was angry, then Luke tells her he kissed her, she became angry and stormed out. Bobbie stating that Laura being so angry, that you don't feel if you have no feelings for. She nailed what Laura was feeling, she was falling in love with Luke. She confirmed it. Luke was 'Yeah, right.' But you knew Bobbie would not lie about that to him.
