Yes I do agree with that statement I do whole heartedly. But it also applies to Laura too. She gives all her love to Luke. I mean she did just tell Luke that even thought she was married to Scotty at the time. She (Laura) would give up everything and I mean everything. Her marriage to Scotty her family, friend’s and most important of all her reputation in order to be able to show all her love she gave to her Luke. MsJacob890 It sure is a good way to teach children letters, numbers and how to read. I used game's, (Yahtzee, Payday, Monopoly) cards, newspapers, cookbooks anything I could find to kind of make it fun to learn and he didn't even know class was in session with mom. Before the mind control box 📺 was in every one's home, people would read the Bible and newspaper together in the evenings. The Bible was the first book children learned to read from just 100 yrs ago. 🙏🏼 They had radio's too but most families focused on educating their children before the darn govt stuck it's nose in and took control. Then education became; "The Dumbing Down of America". Charlotte Iserbyte worked under Reagan-Bush in education, this is when communist core was really being pushed and ready to be put in public schools world wide. "New World Order". And the United Nations was pushing communist core all around the world, we're here. ☹️ "1984". John Taylor Gotto Another great man about our educational system. There are very few people today including the college educated that could pass a basic 1850, 9th grade test. Sad What boys & girls learned in school up until 1871, (when the "United States of America" became the "Corporation of the US" and we lost our Constitution) far surpasses many expensive college educations today. 😊

sussezq Those skirts & boots sure were the style back then. I wore a long denim skirt with the same brown boots to an 8th grade dance. I grew up in a very rural area, so we girls left the plaid wearing to the boys because most of the boys wore plaid flannel shirts all the time. Can you imagine a Junior High dance with the boys in plaid shirts and the girls in plaid skirts. 😂😂

Bringing up the pregnancy thing was a little uncomfortable, considering the recasting of how it would have occurred. But even at the time I was wondering whether she was hoping she was (on a VERY subconscious level) because she kept delaying getting the second pregnancy test. It seemed she was delaying finding out until it was too late to do anything about it.

Not that big a rewrite IMO. At the time Laura was very emotional about the whole thing. And she does say to Luke how difficult a time it was for her to realize that she wanted his baby. So I think its only a plausible rewrite. But that's just me. :-)

Laura delayed the 2nd pregnancy test. She was both fearful of a possible pregnancy and excited about it as well. She told Luke she felt happiness at not being pregnant which was replaced by a feeling of numbness. She did want the baby and the baby would have been Luke's.

@dgprincess23 Soaps do re-writes all the time.. and if they had to do it to keep TG and GF working together.. I was personally fine with it. What their intention was back then with the rape story... (TG only being on the show for 13 weeks) and what actually happened because of the power that was this particular acting team changed the course of daytime history. They needed to try to do something even if it was a little too little.. some of us forgave them and some can't and that's okay.

Yep. The rape scene certainly did.I agree the chemistry between L & L was electric, but the circumstances leading up to it were bizarre. Most rape victims don't fall in love with their attackers. Somehow, Gloria Monty was able to mesmerize people into believe it was this great "seduction". These things have always disturbed me about the relationship between Luke & Laura.

YOu know what ebony I was really pretty young at the time and I think there was a whole dynamic to the "rape" that went clear over my head. I was always so intrigued by their scenes together. They way they talked to each other and could open up to each other... but I am not sure what I wanted from the beginning... I was in the big mess with everyone else, not knowing what we wanted for Laura... I mean we wanted her to love Scotty really (that's what she wanted too). It would have made it easier.
