mmort55 He apparently had it put into his contract that he controls the scenes they are in and has approval about how they are written. 2013 was pretty rocky between them. Hope it's just that he was in pain and sick.

Because those storylines made him very rich. Plus not to mention famous. TG once said the Laura makes Luke and Laura work. If Laura dose not come back where dose that leave Luke? He was 15 yrs her senior; reality & on the show (I never understood the college courses with everyone 😂) I’d read this really cool documentary and it spoke of their ages on & off the show. But at 17?? That scene when Scott found the letter? Oh my gosh she deserved an award. So many times over she should’ve won!! 😕 ☺️☺️☺️

@@sdavis5001 Laura was born December 21, 1961; but Genie was born on May 26th, 1962, if this was December 1980 then she would have been 18. They seem to imply that Luke was in his 20's, until recently they never mentioned Luke's age. We only found out not too long ago that he was 15 in 1963 when he killed his parents. That would have made Laura 1 or 2. Tony Geary was born May 29, 1947 like you said a 15 year age difference.

I am in the import/ rug business. a few years ago an actress from GH purchased from me. I looked her up online and discovered that she would be well acquainted with Mr Geary. I had to call her about her purchase and during the conversation I was able to work in the following: "I need to tell you something. It is my belief that Tony Geary is one of the greatest actors of my generation" {I went on to explain why} and she replied that he was one of her closest friends and that she certainly agreed. It wasn't that I thought it would be news to her but I don't think he has gotten nearly the recognition he should have and I felt compelled to say it. I am grateful to the Universe for a most unlikely opportunity to do so.

In my opinion Anthony Geary is as great an actor as Jimmy Stewart, Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford not to mention a few other greats. I do believe the Luke character did set him up for rejection (which he actually said happened in one of his interviews) which likely did cause some resentment. If given good material he could have been an Oscar winner in any great movie. I feel badly for him in a way but glad for all of us fans who got to watch his phenomenal performances on GH. I do think he should have gotten more widespread recognition for his acting talent.

I so agree... fantastic actor. Glad you got to say it. I have pursued telling some of these people in person "thank you". Just wanted to say thanks for all the great entertainment. It was important to me to look them in the eye and say such, even though I am sure it meant NOTHING to them. I just needed to for myself. I think it took Tony Geary leaving for us to get the Laura we love back. They seemed to lose the real Laura in the 90's. Because of the huge age difference they tried to make Laura seem older and matronly. The way they dressed her to the way they styled her hair. We now have the woman from the 80's that we all fell in love with. The Greenland story was epic. Laura saved the world! Now she is headed off to Russia on a search for Nikolas. Genie Francis is General Hospital.

@jimmywaynegirl I love Laura (she has grown up), she doesn't care about how others perceive things, she has it in her to make the most run down, old, shoddy thing, and hold it in the highest esteem, and care about it as if it was made of 14k gold, knowing anything grows with love! ;-) It is something Lucas Lorenzo Spencer both so admires and does not understand in her ( to this day). He only sees himself as a charlie brown tree, an old wicker sofa, or run down abandoned house.

Here you can see why Anthony Geary was so adored especially by the female audience of this show. When on, he was just sensational ,his expression,his artistry . He didn't allow for distractions, he was just so on point with his delivery as an actor and Genie Francis was so great to be able to project like she did , wow ..if only Mr. Geary was as into now as he was here and Jackie Zeman so cute , her character Bobby should of gotten together with Hutch, well the entire cast,directors and writers were just wonderful
