Gorgeous footage! May I ask how you managed to get such a wide angled focal length lens (25mm) to take a 2x anamorphic adapter without vignetting? (normally I thought you could only use a taking lens at 35mm or wider)..since the anamorphic adapter is 2x does that mean you're getting an effective focal length of 12.5mm (25mm on a full frame camera)? Thank you

Thanks for watching Justin! Yeah it's wild right? SLR magic actually recommends using a 50mm with a 62mm filter thread. But at the time of purchasing my 25mm lens, I didn't take into account the effective focal length. I used a step up and down ring to attach the two. When panning with the camera, that's when vignetting begins to show because of the rings. Watch my other video a filmmakers gear story. I do want to get a 50 mm but I think I can make this system work in a creative way, along with my 35 mm veydra

oh interesting- the slr magic 40 x1.333 (compact) adapter actually goes down to 17mm and even allows for auto focus but not x2- I'll check out your other vid- happy shooting! :)

Hey bro, great footage. I just tested the 2x adapter on an Olympus 25mm 1.2 (no adapter rings) wide open and got major vignetting which makes sense given the 50mm recommendation. It should have the field of view as you SLR Magic 25mm, so did you crop at all? Would my aperture setting have fixed it?

Hey bro, that's so odd! I didn't crop at all. That's wild. Idk what to tell you.

Did you use a lens hood? The low contrast and flares suggest you did not use a lens hood or a matte box.

Nope no lens hood

Great Video, looks awesome!! What's the minimum distance can you focus on when you use this Anamorphic adapter?

ha it was a rough one but on the adapter I believe its 3ft

What did you grade it with? I think you can get a better image still. It feels like you added color to the log footage but forgot the other factors. Any chance you can send a frame of each shot ungraded from the raw footage as I wish to play around with it? Best shot in my opinion was the seagulls. I thought you were going to stay still on the wide, then you went with the seagulls im guessing as a spur of the moment thing, and it looked really good.

Hey Stan, sure I don't mind. Color grading isn't my strongest skill (as you can see). It looked okay in the moment then afterwards I didn't make the necessary adjustments. I just wanted to upload a test. What other factors are there? I think the frames of the water line we're a bit to underexposed in the beginning. And yeah it was a split second decision because the seagulls we're coming directly to me, which in my opinion, created two/three compositions with one long take. What's your email?
