Wow GH5 had so much cut content it's insane. We all know about the 2 GH1 bonus songs, Bang your head and I want candy, but I wonder if any of this stuff exists in GH3, WT, and WoR

This is the song I was waiting for. Apart from being a huge NIN fan this song sticks out by being EXTREMELY out of place on the GH5 setlist. This song personally would have fit perfectly on WOR of rock, a song like the hand that feeds would’ve fit better imo.

I would've rather had this in WoR over Wish. It makes me wonder if they did consider adding this to WoR at some point, but decided to go with Wish instead, for whatever reason.

it's likely they were, but the chart conversions are buggy.

I swear this version sounds different than the album version (This is the same mix as used in RB DLC). It always bugs me when the vocals get all muffled when he says "Now doesn't it make you feel BET-ter." The vocals sound crystal clear in the album version. Anyway, I think the guitar looks much better here. The bass looks very similar. I'm pretty sure both versions cut down on the hi-hat in the actual drum track.

Not a huge NIN fan either, but this also looks really fun to play. Such a shame that it got cut. It makes me think tho, what goes into adding a particular song in a game? I get licensing issues, but GH has had other NIN songs in their catalog, so licensing issues being behind this song getting cut is unlikely. Maybe it just goes down to preference from the dev team?

My guess is that maybe they planned to have wii exclusive songs, or these were originally going to be part of the main set list. My theory is that Neversoft started with a longer list of songs that they cut down as development goes on, removing songs they have decided they don’t want, until they have the best set list possible. It’s likely some of these songs were scrapped before a note was placed, and some were closed to finished before being cut. A lot of the other unused songs in the files were later DLC or in another game, so it’s likely that they also went back and decided to use songs cut from previous games. This song was just one of the ones that almost made it to the finish line before it was cut.

Say, I’ve noticed something about these “cut content” songs - for the challenges in this game (for each instrument, or the band as a whole), as soon as somebody hits their first note, I’ve seen the diamond level achievement icon appears above the tracks for everybody in play. Same thing for every other individual challenge active. But this being “custom content”, I guess the automatic target for anything is either one or zero.

The challenges being completed immediately is actually due to being converted to a custom through Onyx. All custom songs do that.
