In the trade of Bakers, early morning-start is a usual thing in order to sell freshly-baked pastry daily. The timing is to factor in the preparation of pastries before baking (especially bread) in the tedious process called proofing (dough rising or expand with the yeast used). Some breads (pastries) even require double-proofing.

How I wish I could visit Singapore again this year!! All those little cafes with yummy food!! I am missing them! I m guessing its impossible right now without being quarantined!! Thank You Ghib for your discovery!
When he said:”This is so Japanese...”, I decided I will pay a visit to this place, since all cooped up here locally & no prospect of traveling yet in the near future...

Dipping french loaf to the curry is very Singaporean. You can buy Kambing (goat) soup from Indian Muslim stall and eat it with a french loaf.

Thanks for being understanding. it's the same with wedding as well. Now with mobile phone is even worse, people just take being on time for granted cos they can be late and then know that they can still contact you after that so they end up being later. It's like their time is precious and everyone else's time are not.

Hi Ghib-San.. you should also do a video of Asanoya at Queen Street. Their Japanese vibe is also just as good. Maybe they might be a tad more upmarket. Asanoya Boulangerie @ Queen Street 15 Queen Street, #01-03, Singapore 188537
I pass by it frequently but never gone in because it’s always soooo crowded. If it wasn’t Covid times, maybe I’d squeeze in.
