Thanks Ghib Ojisan. Fujika-san really did alot quietly since 1989 until now to promote Singapore and English language. He deserve a medal! He's already very old now. I think Ojisan can bring him back to Singapore to enjoy all his favorite Singapore food and go to the Tuas sailing club one more time. His journalism and teaching experiences in those times will be a very good guest lecture topic to be told in Singapore universities.

Lee Kuan Yew - Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun 1967. Grand Cordon of the Order of the Paulownia Flower 2015 I wonder in 1967 when memories of WWII still fresh, which leader of a country dared and even more, convinced his people to open up their market and labour to Japan, protected these Japan corporations from unfair treatments and bias judgements. Ever since then, Japan corporations have deep rooted themselves in South East Asia for 50 coming to 60 years. What a man! His answers are always perfect because he tells you common senses which are often marred by emotions and short term gains.

Mr Lee’s love for Seiko. Please try to interview Seiko old executive. Most might not recognise Seiko watches as a luxury. Heck, most might not even know that the humble Seiko 5 watch is of completely in-house origin from its movement parts to case to the bracelet. Back in 1976, Mr Lee had invited Seiko’s the Managing Director Ichio Hattori to establish Singapore Time Pte. a factory to make wrist watches on Marsiling drive in Woodlands new town - an example of Singapore’s social and economic development - 90 workers were trained in Daini-Sekiosha in Japan while the remaining Singaporean workforce trained under the returning specialists, among the specialists was Kok Kham Seng, the Division Manager for Seiko Total Quality Management department: This was Seiko’s first factory outside of Japan and it was also equipped with the latest technology of the period - Singapore Time (eventually Seiko Instruments) was going to be a fully integrated factory from materials to finished products.

I am a 62 years old Singaporean. Mr Lee Kuan Yew' always tried to build a very good relationship with Japan. When I was a child in the 1960s, anything made in Japan meant poor quality product. By the 1980s, Japan became an economic powerhouse. Anything MADE IN JAPAN meant high quality, durability and value for money. I never forgot my first Sony Walkman that I bought. It dropped into my toilet bowl accidentally. I quickly recovered it and washed it. After leaving it to dry for a few days, it worked perfectly! Such is the quality of Japanese craftsmanship. Today, I still have deep respects for the Japanese people. They are very disciplined and polite people.

I worked in Singapore from 1976 to 1978. At the time, the Singapore River was rat-infested and full of bumboats (tongkangs) with old, dilapidated warehouses along both sides of the river. Singapore is so unrecognisable today.

I believe that the fact that he is a member of the Hakka Chinese minority also contributes to his success in national politics. The Han Chinese, the Chinese majority, have traditionally been good at commerce, which tends to bring them economic prosperity, but bribery is widespread, leading to a decline in morals and inequality in society. In this regard, the Hakka Chinese, who are a minority, traditionally have often worked in disciplined occupations such as the military or police. When engaged in national politics, they bring a certain level of norms and fairness to society, similar to the samurai government in Japan and the European aristocracy that was in charge of the military. I believe that the success of Singaporean Chinese is due to the synergistic effect of disciplined leaders and citizens who are good at business.

LKY was a lawyer by training, so he was always very careful with his words and it was always backed up by facts. He saw how the racial riots tore Singapore apart, hence the censorship of press. I like Japan, loved their food and safety aspects of it. But the work and study cultures are quite a turn off

Meanwhile Among All of the 3️⃣ Current 🇯🇵 Members of a K-Pop 👦-Band named Treasure, Asahi Hamada-Kun Actually Came from the Same Prefecture as Ghib Ojisan - Osaka. Whereas Another 🇯🇵 Treasure Member named Yoshinori Kanemoto-Kun is Actually a 4th Generation Korean-Japanese from the Kobe Prefecture. On the Other Hand, the Only 🇯🇵 K-Pop Star Who Came from Nagoya (aka the Hometown of Miki-San - Another 🇸🇬-Based, 🇯🇵 KZbinr Who Mostly Used Mandarin for his Own Videos) that I Could Think of is Rei-Chan of IVE.

I see LKY, I must click. Why I never click immediately? Singaporeans are always busy working lah. :D My family is going to Nagoya, Kyoto & Osaka soon for vacation. So I'm rewatching some of your Osaka vids and checking Google Maps. I definitely agree that we should invite Fujioka-san to Singapore (assuming he's not already doing so while recruiting teachers.) He wouldn't even recognise any places anymore. All the buildings in that photo were demolished with the old Treasury building or AXA Tower being the last to go. I didn't even realise AXA Tower was that old. Well maybe Lau Pa Sat is still there but not visible in that photo, but for chicken rice, please don't go Lau Pa Sat, go a bit further to Maxwell market. I tried using Rakutan to search for Hotels in Kyoto but they were all so expensive, though the properties all look very nice. Now got discount, maybe can relook again.
