Ghost Bsd Again

Thanks for the video. I really like BSD and Ghost BSD make freeBSD very easy to use and install. My concerns are about the most commons multimidia codecs and youtube; unfortunatelly you don't open any video on youtube; perhaps in another video. I'm still with problems with my HP Advantage on Debian,. I like Debian because of low usue of resources, so I install Opensuse Leap, but tt's future is very misterious....best wishes

Good morning sir! How good would you say GhostBSD is on older hardware? I have a laptop that I use as a server, it runs a Pentium T4400 and has 2GB of RAM, and it's currently running Artix OpenRC but it's unbearably slow even with low RAM usage (Artix uses about 840mb after it boots). Thing is, it brings the Pentium to it's knees! And the mechanical HDD also doesn't help much! I thought about installing BSD on it for quite a while, you think it could be a bit faster than Artix?

I think Bsd will be heavier. Seems odd Artix is running so high for a server. Since it’s Arch based, you could try Arch. When I log into Arch in the tty, it’s only using about 200mb of ram. People say Arch is not good for servers; however, your computer is old with low system resources and Bsd and Debian use more ram.

Is there a way to see if GhostBSD (or any other distro) is collecting data?

Sorry, I don't know. I do know that Firefox and VLC by default collect data, but you can it off in the settings. I don't think the distributions are collecting data; at least, I hope not. Since they are open source, the code can be read by other developers and one would think word would get out. Unfortunately, I don't know how to read code.
