@@P3nguin79 When i study the gouls on a second viewing I'll have to agree with you that the one to the right has breasts, and you can hear her voice in the singing if you listen very closely, but still I'm hearing a male falsetto (with maybe a female layer in there to give it more of a body to the vocals.)

@@TheLongwei yeah there is. I had to put my good headphones on and you can hear that the female is actually backup for the falsetto. It's the keyboard player. If you look at 2:13 he's shown for a quick second and if you watch the guitar player I think he's singing the baritone part. That means it has to be the keyboard player singing "call me".

Usually the bands performing do it on a small outdoor stage (100 people). I saw Rammstein at a Jimmy Kimmel performance back in 2011. Its filmed early in the day (7ish), and they play about 4 songs. Only one is aired. This clearly done a little different since it was performed from the Mountain View mausoleum. I’m sure it was Ghost that selected the location (to make it a little special). The Jimmy Kimmel Show would not spent the money needed for this small masterpiece. The lighting, location, etc are wonderful

I think it might have been originally planned to be like that. Their performance on Jimmy Kimmel was orginally scheduled for a day in January, shortly before the tour started, but had to be postponed. At that time the group had already been gathered together for the upcoming tour. With that date now, the tour is over, and they are probably all home taking a break and summoning all the musicians back would probably have been quite the hassle, so they did this instead. I am pretty sure this performance was shot along with the Impera release party.

@sylph8005
@sylph8005 2 жыл бұрын
@Allison Kaiser If you ask me, it’s not a matter of selling out. First of all, Ghost is from Sweden, the land of ABBA, so he has respect for them (he has covered them) and their kind of music. Second, he also wanted to pay homage to 80s hair metal on this latest album, and for better or worse, that music was more mainstream. But it’s still beloved by many, including Gorge, and isn’t making what he wants the most important? Last but not least, I think Forge wants to make his music insidious, accessible to the innocent masses yet filled with subliminal messages of the insidious occult.

I personally see a lot of glam rock influence in IMPERA (especially in Spillways, where the chorus reminds me a lot of Poison by Alice Cooper), so the super catchy riffs make it super accessible to newcomers. I also noticed that each album except the new one and Prequelle the vocals either sound slightly different or mixed in a way to where they sound different. I think it’s to give each of the Papas their own unique voices in the songs, it’s such a small thing but I love that Tobias thought of that, either that or that’s just unintentional and the sounds and styles of each album give off that illusion. This song is ‘sick’ as my kids would say. It has got it all. Ashamed to have only discovered Ghost a few months ago but have loved going back through the back catalogue and looking forward to seeing them in Manchester next month! Mary on a Cross, Square Hammer, He Is etc etc and now a whole new album. I’ll be like a kid in a sweet shop at the gig

@@abcdefghijkl5408 They are exactly what they set out to do. Yeah, it's more eighties instead of 70s. but still, the song writing is on point. And they where cheese from the first album on. This album may be their second best, after Meliora to me.

The whole CD is a masterpiece. This is the CD we need during these times. I have not stopped listening to it, whistling or humming the songs...to the point that my wife is getting annoyed. I playfully looked at her and said "call me..."

@Chris Eller it's supposed to AreTard. If you'd follow the song, the meaning, the story behind the music you'd see the art but people with low brain cell count are incapable of seeing art. Never go to a Oprah AreTard.

Yes, the sound engineering on this show and on the album for this song is Dead On !! I put this on in my Dodge Charger which came with the cheapest base audio system with NO CD player, it thumped so loud, you'd thought I had a killer system!!! Crank up the volume. The sound & recording engineers deserve a Grammy too
