These are real cams. The stock camshafts in the coyote are already huge. It has twin independent variable cam timing, meaning it can control the position of the intake cam and the exhaust cam separately in each cylinder head. From the factory, Ford tunes these motors for drivability, which means they tune out the valve overlap. All this tune does is lock your cam phasers at a certain position at idle so the valves overlap and give you that choppy sound we all love. There’s nothing ricey about this like some people say. Chevy boys just butthurt because they have to tear their motor down and upgrade their cams to get the same sound lol. Sounds sick man, keep it up!

saintsman77tw you are exactly correct! Knowledge in king. I have cat deletes on mine with cam tune, BBK 90mm TB, JLT Series 2 CAI all on a 2011 Track Pack Stang. I had muffler deletes and it sounded like this but was way too loud when driving with cat deletes so I buy stock mufflers back on. Stock mufflers with cat deletes sounds good but I'm going to put on Cervinis side exhaust soon.

They don't really "get tuned separately in each cylinder head" the variable camshafts are changed together. Maybe within the cylinder head but not separate head to head.

It technically is a Cam. Because Ford engines have Cam phaser's which control variable valve timing. A lopey Cam is really good at high rpm. So It just locks out the Cam phaser's at a low rpm and gives it a chop chop chop

I have a ghost cam on my 13 gt. It’s recommended not to drive long with the tune on due to it over fueling. Just a quick tip! You can ruin injectors

Depends on the company you got the tune with i suppose, you can run it for awhile but it'll worsen your gas mileage alot. I heard Bama had to reconstruct their ghost cam tune because of this issue you are saying.

It makes it sound like a pushrod V8 instead of a cross-plane V8. So, even if you went through the trouble of getting an aftermarket cam, you’d still have to get a ghost cam tune with the Coyote 5.0 if you want it to idle similar to the HEMIs

I’d advise not to drive on the ghost cam tune. I did a day test run with it on, car made some super weird sound after about 2 hrs of driving. Sounded like a pulley whine and something super bad. Also think I was rocking so hard something might have been contacting with my headers. And inside my engine something sounded like knocking. Wouldn’t recommend driving far with this cam tune on, just for show though it’s cool.

What your actually doing is e same as if you put a hot cam in a regular pushrod engine. You change the overlap between the exhaust and intake cams. Fuel can be tweaked to where it won’t hurt the cats.

SLENDER yes if you have Factory Cats, you will mess up your 02 sensors and your Cats will most likely go bad. Lund Tuning says people daily drive it with no problems, but I wouldn’t because it’s bad on gas and puts more pressure on the engine. No increase or decrease in HP according to Lund Tuning.

I leave my cam tune on for a couple days at a time. The only bad thing I've come across is that it fouled both my upstream wideband 02 sensors. But my car had 64k on it so that played a factor also I'm sure

It made me freak out for awhile. I thought that my A/F ratios were going super super lean under acceleration but then I noticed they would both just randomly stop reading at points and well with my few mods it's pretty much a fool proof tune as far as Lund goes they know their stuff

Derek R you can add the cam sound anytime you want later on, you don’t have to worry about it at all when buying the tune. It’s free all you have to do is email them after to get the ghost cam tune.

CONSWAN3000 because coyote engines have 4 cams technically, and they’re not cheap to buy and install and they barely add any power for the money your paying.

That’s misleading actually if you put after market cams and retain all the vgt it’s not going to chop maybe a little bit but to get an actually chop or chop you would need to phase the cams essentially doing the same thing you would with stock cams

Ramon Carreno Lund racing said that people daily drive it with no problems. It adds fuel and timing to make it do that so it does put more pressure on your engine so I would only put it on for show reasons.
