“Cakes” like that are more like food sculptures and are intended to be set pieces at events rather than eaten. Which is how they get away with making it 90% armatures, fondant, and modeling chocolate.

Went on vacation to NYC and on the au home to Oklahoma we went to the bakery.... the cookies are okay. Cupcakes are soft but don't have too much flavor. The cheesecake was good, but a little dry.... it's hard to screw up cheesecake, and maybe it's personal bias, but I like the one I make a lot better.

This was not the most bezarre episode there was one where a INSECT CLUB wanted cake boss to create a insect cake OUT OF REAL INSECTS and yes the club eats REAL INSECTS. Cake boss compromised and made them a cake and made it look like a spider. Then the club put REAL INSECTS on the cake and they ATE THEM with the cake.

You can get insect flour for baking, so that'd have been really easy for them to do if they put any thought into it at all. Also, cake boss is a dumbass if he made an insect club a spider cake when spiders aren't insects. Then again, going off what Allison showed in this episode, he's certainly a bit of a dumbass.
