I like to change stances in the middle of combo. It's mind blowing with little practice. Breake their guard,change stance, hits - light/heavy,change stance, repeat. You can "circle" all stances during fight and it will give you new perspective of the game. If I can do it,you can for sure 😉 Enjoy!

I am using the Kensei armor which boosts ghost weapons significantly, and I use kunai knives a ton. Because of that, I use a charm that grants 1 kunai for every perfect dodge. So I have to master the timing of the perfect dodge, so using this jump dodge technique isn't an option this playthrough. But the perfect dodges are so satisfying to pull off!

Here some tips my friends. 1- In duels if you are struggling dodge back and do stabs with stone stance. 2- you can kill a group of 9 in like 6 seconds by hitting a 3 person standoff followed by a smoke bomb into a 3 chain assasination followed by a dance of wrath. And if you want to hit a fat 10 use heavens slash followed by a heavy attack. (Let's be real if you find 10 guys in a group you done goofed)

Excellent vid, sir. Subscribed. Jump dodge/warp is brilliant. Similar to the R3 concentration method (which is also VERY clever), the R2 stance change technique is effective as time also slows (depress and hold R2 as enemy attacks then initiate parry basically). Problem is you can't dodge while depressing R2. Anyway, great job!

@battle rifle, No it doesn’t. There are literally several NPCs that give you tips on how the jump dodge works, it’s advantages and utility. Like 3 or 4 NPCs through act 1 & 2. The last one even tells you that against well train or skilled fighters (mostly noticed it against act 3 commander groups) it is ineffective because they will attack twice, and multiple of them at once, faster than you can land or attack back. That it should be used as a distancing tactic only when surrounded because spear guys will almost always knock you out of it late game. And against bosses after 2 hits they will parry the square attack and punish or dodge and punish the kick because the recovery is slower. Jump attacks are part of a ninjas battle strategy so it makes sense for a “ghost” move to be overpowered like the rest. It’s kinda the point. Jumping in a fight is seen as rude and dishonorable hence dance like footwork being a big part of fighting. Jumps are for those who need an advantage. There are also several NPCs that tell you how to feint. Both are part of your kit from the get go but the game doesn’t tell you about them unless you find the NPCs.

stepping back is a big one if an enemy swings at you and gives you a larger window to parry for real!
@jeffreynolin93393 жыл бұрын
From my kendo experience, a perfect parry wouldn’t make contact with your opponent’s shinai, but is instead beating his timing with the parry-block actually being more of a safety-feign (if you’re a bit slow, your shinai would tap theirs, safely interrupting their strike), which continues as part of the smooth lightning-fast counter strike across their chest. You also wouldn’t be stepping back, but stepping in and slashing through and past. It’s a beautiful thing and it’s how I beat my opponent in my shodan sparring test.

I don't agree, jumping should be used only when you're surrounded and if dodging takes you into someone else's attack. If you don't dodge you won't do the special combo only available after a successful dodge. If you master the long press and dual button moves, implementing them into the fight ... that's when the real fun begins. And changing stances mid-fight is a must too. Never expected Ghost of Tsushima to be this good.

I'm really getting to like both parrying and dodging. Was pretty ok with dodging before but perfect parrying the timing was iffy. I've played this game so much now including more practice with parrying I'm finally pretty confident with it. And this is without the parrying/dodging charm which I can't tell you the last time I slotted it in. I'm eagerly looking forward to executing this jump dodge combo first thing tomorrow as I believe it will add an extra skill. I tried doing it after I commented last but got it wrong so didn't try it further. What I was doing was just jumping to evade, then counter and was getting clipped. Having replayed the tutorial twice times since last I now realise I gotta jump and dodge leading into the counter. So looking forward to trying it out. Also the slow mo parry.
