Ghost of Tsushima - Jin Recovers His Father's Sakai Armor

Nice parallel that the Ghost Armor and the Sakai Armor are both originally black and have a "supernatural" aspect to them. Where the Ghost Armor is supposed to instill fear, the Sakai Armor has its intimidating antlers. I'd even go so far to say that Jin's father would have become somewhat like the Ghost himself if he had survived, given how Yuriko mentions his brutal fighting style.

Kazumasa was also not rigid like Shimura when it came to honor and things like that. If the man was still alive, he'd be on Jin's side when it came to taking out the Mongols. I loved hearing all the stories of Kazumasa, he seemed like a force to be reckoned with.

Yuriko's short quest-line is my favourite in the game purely because of the backstory about Jin's dad. It hurts knowing that Jin could've had family that stuck by him during his transformation into the Ghost, but instead is forced to defy the only family he knows because he doesn't share their ideals. Also, the final cutscenes before the end of her questline... holy shit.

@@SerCrispinCool Yeah, but to be honest, one nagging point with Ghost is that some of the armor is a bit too "modern" to set in Kamakura period, as the Sakai armor looks like a Sengoku period armor which is rounder shape while Kamakura was box square shape.

@@SerCrispinCool I think it due for gameplay wise. Honestly Kamakura era Samurai at the time was really backward in terms of warfare and weapon technology. There is a channel called Metatron (an Italian Asian history expert and also a modern day Samurai) he has a vid where he talk about Ghost of Tsushima accuracy about Kamakura period samurai. One big inaccuracy is Jin Kenjutsu skill as his sword style is based more on Edo period sword school. Especially with the swinging the blade to wipe the blood technique

Something about Kazumasa seemed so interesting to me. I really hope to see or hear about him in the sequel. Hopefully a flashback where we can play as him? Maybe get to see a very young Jin in the process. Just don't show us again him getting killed by a no-name bandit u.u When I was barely playing the game, I was expecting Shimura to get a lead on the bandit and us killing him.

In feudal japan it's usually 1-5 samurai (mostly bloodrelated) within a village. Why his papa had to fight alone could be he battled 5 or more bandits and was overwhelmed by the last man i dunno

So Jin’s father was overwhelmed by the amount of bandits. He probably killed many bandits before he fell. It was probably a small rebellion of traitorous ronin and bandits from Yarikawa that attacked the estates. Either he had to fight alone or the other samurai fell in the fight. Later it seemed the bandits fled when Shimura arrived and later chased them and kill the bandits. At the funeral, Ishikawa said, “Your father protected the people above all else.” And Shimura said, “Your father protected his only son in battle.” So he was fighting against the bandits and ronins, probably by himself, got overwhelmed and died.

Iron was very expensive in Japan during it's Samurai Years. If U had tons of Iron. U was rich. It was used as currency made into Coins during the 13th Century than used for smelting and molding swords and other blades. I can see why Iron is so rare in This Game. Your best bet is to find It at Mongol Territories. You'll get at least 8 when U Liberate their camp's. Equip The Travelers Attire and Charm of Inari, and You'll be swimming in Material. U can also sell The Iron to earn more Supplies if you're running and really need The Upgrades and Gear. Hope this helps for any body that's struggling or still struggling on How to earn more Material and Supplies. Oh Y earn Silk by searching Mongol Territories and Completing Character Side Quest.

@@darthslinger1129 Gosaku Armour is all about doing great amount of stagger damage or best stagger damage build. Sakai Clan Armour is my top 3 favourites next to Gosakus, and it has great amount of melee damage and increases the health, can kill up to 5 enemies in a standoff, overall a good armour, unless you wanna use the Ronin Attire since it has great melee damage. The Ghost Armour is my go-to armour for well scaring the Mongols, balance it with other charms that deals extra melee damage, extra protection, extra resolve gains, extra stagger damage and all that.

Silently sneaking through a mongol camp, assassinating all of them? Ghost armor. Charging headlong into battle? Sakai set.

Same with the Sakai Armour, it looks awesome, with the dark armour pieces and helmet and mask to give the Mongols something to be scared by. As for the Ronin outfit, it looks pretty cool but I prefer armour of a samurai. It's just my preferences for combat

I imagine when Jin's father wore it last, it was badly damaged by all the fighting he went through. When Jin finaly puts it on, that's all that was left of it. Jin restores it back to its former glory as he continues on with it. This is what I imagine anyway. I thought it was strange looking too when I first got it. Didn't like it too much but kept it on for Jin's sake.

Jin must have felt different when he was wearing his dad’s samurai armour, was she Jin mother because the game didn’t explain or mentioned what happened to her also the way she was talking & speaking to Jin in the game

there is no way there would be one with how great this is doing. Plus they leave some thing open and talk about the mainland quite often. Even the beginning of the game mentions that tsushima is only the first part of the mongol invasion. So they can keep going just because Khan is dead does not mean the entire force just gives up.
