I think Ghost Rider is in a similar position to Green Lantern as far as film adaptations go: Both characters started out small, but over the years so much lore and mythology was added that to cover all of that in 2 hours while trying to tell a coherent story seems impossible.
@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Жыл бұрын
Green Lantern also never had an epic moment that made you understand why Hal Jordan was chosen by the ring. In the animated movie, Green Lantern: First Flight Sinestro is bringing down OA and Lantern rings are dropping. But Hal Jordan never gives up. He embodies will power and basically takes in a bunch of the Green Lantern energy to take on Sinestro and his ring of fear. Something like that was missing. Although, I would've done it a little differently if I was making the movie. Already thought up my own version.
@giosbizarreart9048 Жыл бұрын
Nah not really you don’t need to cover decades of comics in one movie just like every other comic adaptation just do an amalgamation of a few good books
@arcanefury3666 Жыл бұрын
Okay but here me out. An anthology film that changes the art style every story. Batman had one, Dead Space had one, Dante's Inferno had one but it made less sense, Samurai Jack had like 2 episodes like that, the Animatrix. The art style change can serve 2 purposes, you give up and coming studios a chance to flex, and you also could demonstrate how different villains who encountered him, see him. You dont need condense assuming 40-50 years of story into one comic you just have to pick like 3-4 short arcs. Or And this is just spitballing you basically make a slasher movie but the victims are people you want to see burn in hell fire or become empty husks. The stars in those films are already the monsters. It might be kinda cool to see a film like that were the monster wins.
@WinningProduction420 Жыл бұрын
I disagree. You can easily make a 2hr ghost ride movie with Danny Ketch or Johnny Blaze. Just need a good script and a clear villain. Their origins are not complicated Green Lantern with a slight tweak can easily be done if you focus on just Hal, John or Kyle for the first movie then expand to more space related adventures and larger GL cast with sequels.
@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Жыл бұрын
@@WinningProduction420 that's what I would've done. Make it a much more personal And intimate story so that you get people to care about the Green Lantern. Then you can go bigger in the sequels. Can have a layout like one of those Batman the Brave and the Bold episodes where it's 2 adventures in one. Have him already in the middle of an adventure, he's able to deal with it and then the real adventure begins. Good way to build up the universe.
@PsychoRavager Жыл бұрын
My brother and I actually read the original script before this movie came out. It was weird, but weird in the best way possible. Scarecrow (MARVEL version) was the original primary antagonist, and Ghost Rider was way more difficult to control. There was even a point where Johnny Blaze and the Rider had to take control of the body in an almost split way wherein the human form could still be seen under all the flames. Scarecrow was a horror giant through and through by the end, even putting his eye into a door to peer through a church. That script stuck so hard with me and my brother that we thought this film would do that justice. And we thought wrong. Most of the coolest parts were cut. And we got Spirit of Vengeance.

I have a small theory that perfectly explains why the two movies feel soo different from each other but still share the same continuity. That is while Johnny was first using the rider powers for Mephisto purposes Mephisto was able use his powers to constantly satisfy the Rider’s hunger for souls keep the Spirit of Vengeance under control for Blaze so he could properly fulfill his contract for Mephisto without getting influenced by the Spirit of Vengeance.. Once Blaze fulfilled his contract & decided to keep his powers Mephisto wasn’t keeping his hunger under control anymore leaving Blaze with the problem of trying not to uncontrollably eat the innocent souls all around him which eventually resulted in Blaze having to go into isolation to protect everyone else from his curse.. 😏

That's what I also want even though I never watched those movies! Here's who I want to see as variants of the multiverse tho I haven't seen any of them either: Johnny Blaze, Wesley Snipes's Blade, Mattfleck Daredevil, the previous three actors who played The Punisher, The Hoff's Nick Fury, the "Avengers" members of The Incredible Hulk movies who I've seen a video with interviews from the actors. In the comics, the original comics version of The Falcon can control birds. As for stuff I have seen, characters from The Gifted (including recasting Andy because of the crap Percy Hynes White did) or better, just Blink both from that show AND her Days of Future Past variant, Venom, the previous Fantastic Four movies just cuz I want to see their reaction to the Human Torch variants who look like Steve and N'djaka! There are so many of them that cameoing in just Secret Wars doesn't feel like enough. I almost don't want them to destroy the multiverse unless they recover their universes. The Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths ended by recovering only a few Earths and bringing the main shows, two of which took place in their own Earths, into one universe. Which is what I imagine the MCU will do with the X-Men franchise. But I'd love it if they also did it with the Ghost Rider movies. Or, from what I've seen in this video, there's no human actor playing MCU Johnny Blaze. They could just retcon the movies into being in the MCU the whole time since neither of them affect the timeline!

Either Carter Slade doesn't look like that in comics, he is more cowboy ghost like, either his name is Phantom rider (but has been named Ghost Rider once). The Secret Wars: its Batltle world had some Ghost Rider comics called Ghost Racers, where Carter Slade is called Satan Stomper. I agree partly on the nostalgia part, it is either called nostalgia glasses. But if i isn't good, it doesn't automatically mean it can't be fun. Ghost Rider 2 was a bit like a rebooted sequel, like with Incredible Hulk and the Hulk movies and the Avengers (and after). The canonicity of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is questionable, especially looking at the Darkhold.

I appreciate the use of the Suicide song in the beginning. A day or two before this I checked them out, and it's really strange hearing them out in the wild.

The first Ghost Rider is still my favorite movie of all time, and it was what get me into Marvel Comic in the first place.

I remember seeing the first one at the drive-in when it came out, and it's a cheesy movie, but the Ghost Rider scenes and him fighting demons is fun

After what the MCU did to Moon Knight, Taskmaster and Gorr, I'd prefer it if Kevin Fiege keeps his grubby hands as far away from Ghost Rider as possible.

No, we seriously need a Ghost Rider reboot as soon as possible. There's no way Marvel would left such a powerful and popular character like Ghost Rider to not be in MCU.

@@SpinoSam They won't ruin Ghost Rider, I absolutely guarantee you. They are making their 1st R Rated movie (Deadpool 3) and Blade is also rumoured to be R Rated too, plus Werewolf by Night was very good and dark compared to other MCU projects. So, they are definitely not gonna ruin Ghost Rider at all, he is going to be fine.

I do remember liking the first one. I think I'd place Ghost Rider in the same tier as Daredevil in terms of how people could recognize him, his design alone is very standout compared to most heroes. I recently played the game to the first movie and it's honestly pretty solid all around. Especially if you like DMC or GOW, it has combat very similar to those games. Also, like many have said, the shot of Ghost Rider and his predecessor riding away into the night together is tough as hell. Great shot.

The fact the internet collectively memed Jared leto and Sony into making morbius flop embarrassingly twice with 3 words still makes me so happy. Leto really thought he was finally about to be a star 😂

The timeline is: flop, then memes, then flop again.

@SirBlackReeds I just picture Jared leto in a wife beater drinking a bottle of whiskey and not showering, and he's completely lost everyone and everything and he blames it entirely on the line "it's morbing time" not being in the movie.

I say studios should take a break from live action superhero films and make more animated films. Spider-Verse 1 was amazing, Death of Superman (2018) is still the best Superman movie in the past 10 years, and the Dark Knight Returns does everything Zack fails at.
