@five8italian Dude, that's the whole point. I like Black/Death metal, but there are thousand of copycat bands who try to be as brutal as possible and have growled voices and stuffed. This way, is more original, and I think it actually sounds more evil. Because you can actually understand the lyrics.

Anyone who said rock and roll is dead hasn't heard this band! Operatic, tragic and yet hauntingly catchy- as- hell riffs and singing!!! All the hallmarks of a great rock and roll band!!! I smell Ozzfest, a major tour with a big band or at the least a Grammy nod!!! Excellent work and songscraftmanship... Two metal horns way, way up!!!...

I heard a response to all of the people that try to label this band as a giant gimmick that was spot on. It was, and I paraphrase: The entire genre of metal is filled with gimmicks, playing as loud as possible, playing as fast as possible, screaming as loud and as much as you can, huge stacks of marshall cabs in the backline, the posturing, the list goes on....in the end all of this actual helps Ghost appear more upfront about their message, image and what they are trying to pull off.

First: This band makes me so happy it's hard to pin down exactly why. But thank Satan for this band. I feel like metal needs a reminder of where it comes from. Second: I'd like to throw my thoughts into the "this is/is not black metal" debate raging all over about these ghouls. This, to me, is the purest black metal. I know Venom kind of coined it but this is proto-black metal, before the yelling, technical showcasing, and faster tempos. Ultimately, no matter your opinion, this is great metal.

@alphaenemy I gave the album recording a try (two songs--Ritual and Elizabeth) thinking that I could simply be listening to crappy live recordings. Nope. They still sound weak and the lyrics are still silly. Although, I actually think they may wear the get-ups because Justin Beiber didn't want anyone to know he was singing in a "metal" band. Así es y para ser sincero compre el boleto solo para verlos ya que Maiden se ha presentado en mas ocasiones en México. Tienen un sonido muy bueno algo de stoner, doom y de la vieja escuela Heavy. Definitivamente no es una banda para las masas. Sus intengrantes no son unos novatos la mayoría ya ha tocado con bandas de renombre. Al final cada quien tendrá de su opinión de la banda, para mi son una gran banda.
