It was a fun place to explore. I like how it is a bit hidden and you have to walk back in to find it. I don't know how much longer that building will be standing, as it seems to have really started to fall apart due to the rain, snow and wind in the Black Hills. Hopefully it lasts a while longer.

@@blendedtravelsYes. This is very interesting! There is also a similar place not far from us. Peat was mined there in the thirties of the last century, but over time it became unnecessary and people were forced to leave this place. And there, too, there were abandoned houses with history! Although now it’s all overgrown and crumbling! And for some reason this place was called "Russian America". Maybe there is something about this place on the Internet.

Hi Mrs. Blended Travels What's the emotional film! Your description of the town's history and especially failure remains with those houses, storage building, even old skelton looking cars.... The two story high building could have been remarkable. I am sure metal artists would love to have piece of old cars for repurposing. I see wooden fence around for the each building. Who now owns them? any plan? I feel sorrow to see those old building just wait for collapse to the ground. Well done. Fabulous storytelling and editing. Miss YOU...I hope you are having blast for this summer. Let me drive you in the sea...you must visit FL..hahah Apologies for my belated comment. I did not notice your notification.
@blendedtravels5 ай бұрын
Hi there! This ghost town is now part of the Black Hills National Forest. It is my understanding that the National Forest Service put up the fences a few years ago because the buildings were unstable. The building that is collapsed apparently used to be the school house, per a comment from one of my viewers. We just got back from a trip to Colorado. We got to see a mama bear and 3 cubs, which was exciting. Miss you too! I hope you are having a great summer.
