I visited Belmont NV in April 2024. The courthouse is an impressive structure. We visited in the morning, so the saloon wasn’t open yet. The town is still sparsely populated, so we didn’t venture much off of the main road, out of fear of mistakenly going down someone’s driveway. The town center was nice too with lots of historic vehicles and artifacts on display.

The algorithm brought me by, I love your content and style, and am subscribing. I've been to Belmont, it's a cool place. The earlier Nye County seat was in Ione, it's a ghost town with a few residents still living there. Might be worth a visit one day

My son took me to this unique town a few months ago. We stopped at Dirty Dick's Saloon to have a cold beer. As we walked in, I noticed the bartender and the patrons were giving us the 'hairy eyeball' look. The woman bartender immediately asked us where we were from and my son said California. Well, she gave us our beers and walked over to the other patrons, which I thought was weird. We left and asked my son what that was all about, he said it happened a couple years earlier too, they just don't like outsiders.🤔
