By the way, about Cabanela's speech pattern in Japanese version. I actually looked into it and it seems like he uses random English words which I assume is what they localized on him putting certain emphasis on certain syllables. Also funnily enough, unlike Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick actually seems to take place in Western/English speaking country, as every character seems to have same name in Japanese version, except Kamila being called "Kanon" in Japanese version, and I'm not sure about all minor characters. Also Sissel's name, when read in Japanese, is a pun on a world "shiseru" which means "being able to die". This reflects on important character we'll towards end of the game who has similar, yet opposite name pun when read in Japanese.

Cabanela doesn't elongate words in Japanese but still says things like "baby", for example (in English, like you said). He's not quite the same in Japanese compared to English, but it's really not far off his tone, for sure. Regarding names I know they made up some of them in English. Bailey doesn't have a name in Japanese for example, he is called 'senpai' when people refer to him. Lynne is similar enough, 'Linne' pronounced 'Lee-neh', Jowd is 'Joord', for example... there are surprisingly few differences and playing the game in Japanese really made me appreciate the English version's translation - it's faithful, and what few changes it does make don't really subtract from Shu Takumi's vision for the game.

To those wondering how Kamila couldn't hear the sound of a gunshot, a couple thoughts/theories: 1. Those things look more like *hearing protection* than Bluetooth headphones. Play loud music through those, and you ain't hearin' NOTHIN' 2. It's entirely possible, if not likely, that Tengo's rifle is in .22LR, which is typically a low-power subsonic round (ergo no sonic crack). Why a sniper wouldn't put a silencer/suppressor on a .22 is beyond me, but a full-length barrel would still mean less unburnt powder and therefore less boom. Also, it's kinda hard to fault a Japanese dev team for something like that

Totally agree that the game doesn't need a sequel. But if there was a sequel, I think it would be funny if you have a bunch more rats around, except that all of them have ghost tricks. Because Sissel has spent forever hunting rats and created an army of undead rat ghosts. Not that they would be antagonists or anything, but just have them get in your way, trying to maneuver around their spirits, or occasionally they'll use a ghost trick to get somewhere that will cause a problem for you...

So I’ve never played this game, but I think I may have figured out the possible twist, or at least one of them. See, when “Sissle” makes contact with Lynne’s soul for the second time Lynne initially takes the shape of the strange detective who’d been shaking her body, showing that a soul can assume the appearance of someone else if they mistakenly believe themselves to be that person. So I gotta wonder… Is the main character actually the person known as Sissle? Or are they someone else, perhaps another person who happened to perish in the junkyard that night? Of course, to add on to this, I also have to wonder if the desk lamp is the true Sissle. This is assuming, however, that the individual in the red suit we see is actually named Sissle, and that the Blue evil dude with the weird nose was not referring to someone else while just happening to have the man in the red suit on his TV screen.

Maybe this is Takumi's best game ever made, but it does still have the common problem where for every story beat, at least in the tutorial, not only do we have to wait for the mentor to explain an obvious fact, we then have to sit through the POV character ruminate on how they can actually reach that conclusion on their own if they think about it REALLY hard, and it drags it out at least three times as long as it should take for each point.
