Apparently, this song is supposed to be about someone speaking to their past self, telling them that they'll make it out of the dark place they're in. Honestly, that's not the feeling I get from this. It feels more like a strange dream, or a nightmare.

@silverkenesis Жыл бұрын
i agree it feels like a strange dream and a nightmare but i feel like that is the dark place the person’s in? like the past self feels trapped in this state where every day that passes feels more a strange and eerie dream where they’re isolated and they’re constantly walking on eggshells. and that’s where they’ll escape from eventually, thus the theme being a message to one’s past self

I listen to this because there's a friend I had in the past with who I had a lot of fun, but it's over today... he's gone... and it's been exactly a year :( I miss him so bad, he was the only one I had and would understand... today as a person without siblings I'm alone all day on the Internet and I cannot visit any of my family because of a huge conflict... Eventually he had to go, too...

This song makes me remember of cloudy mid-summer days Those days when the sky's paper gray, but it doesn't rain When it's cold, but humid When it's humid, but stuffed A suffocating feeling as if there's not enough air to breathe And the streets are deserted, not a single car passing by But you can still hear distant muffled traffic And it gets gradually darker, even if it's far from nighttime But you can still see faint sunlight through the clouds... It's just like a nostalgic memory of your lonely childhood days

You wake up in the middle of the afternoon, an eternal afternoon, listening to that catchy music on the broken radio, which sounds like a lullaby, you go out and watch the sunset between purple and orange, where it is always the same, you walk through the abandoned town, in front of the cornfield where that giant machine is, that you don't know how it got there, that seems from the future, or maybe from the past because of how worn it is, and you feel that it calls you, you feel that there were already those who entered it, you know that you will know absolutely everything as soon as you enter it, something calls you slightly, watches over you on this afternoon where there is no heat, so relaxing and melancholic, the wind brushes your cheek and you look at it, as if you were seeing memories of someone playing around. Maybe it's you, maybe it was you, there was someone there, a long time ago or maybe soon.

This song just reminds me of easily the scariest nightmare I ever had many years ago. I was having a lucid dream and was having fun just teleporting around the world and stuff but then I kinda just appered in this weird alternate world. It looked kinda like an old destroyed town near some woods. I immedietly got creeped the hell out and tried to leave but I couldn't. I remember having this horrible feeling like I was completely alone and yet still being watched. The whole alternate world I was in was constantly night time with a bright full moon. It was very foggy and everything had a slight purple hue. I calmed myself down and reminded myself that I was just dreaming and that I could wake up anytime now. I spent what felt like over an entire week trapped in my own nightmare. I kept walking but despite being able to see the treeline at the end of the town, no matter how far I walked all I found were more destroyed overgrown buildings. After many days of this and not seeing any living thing, I started seeing things in the corner of my eyes. I think I was just seeing things but this didn't help with my paranoia. I knew I was dreaming but I started thinking that I would never wake up. I would just wander aimlessly for days, hoping to find anything or to wake up, but slowly losing hope. At around what I assume was the 5th "day", I tried to jump off of the tallest building I could find. I was in a lot of pain but still very much unaturaly alive. I went through a long period of grief and hoplessness. I eventually came to the conclusion that I was in some type of purgatory, and that I was in a state between dead and alive. After around a week passed and I had practicaly gone through most stages of grief, I accepted that I was stuck here forever, never to be able to enjoy my old life, nor truly be dead. I was forever stuck in a state of being completely powerless to leave this situation that I wished would just end. I climbed up a hill near a park and just laid down and started crying my eyes out. I knew that I wouldever get out. After that everything just kinda faded out and I woke up and I had only been asleep for around 4 hours. I went through a whole dam existential crisis because of this lmao. Anyways I guess the scariest nightmares are not ones about monsters and gouls, but moreso living through a metaphore of your own shitty mental state.

To be honest, I love VHS videos, the glitching, the not-amazing quality, and the oldness of the videos. This video and song reminds me of being six and watching a old cartoon called 'Trapdoor' on my mum's VHS tape player, it brings me back to the dulled out sounds of the voices of the characters and the static and cuts that happened from the oldness of the tape. Everything now is too 'hyper realistic' and 'high quality'. It's probably the best memories I have from back then, thanks for bringing them back.

idk why the lyric 「空色見て」makes me so emotional... maybe its the way its sung?? im not sure but.. it always creates a very vivid and nostalgic image in my head of orange and pink morning skies that i used to see so frequently from our houses' back window after waking up, i love this song so much :')

This is like when you’re downstairs absorbed and on your iPad past your bedtime. Everyone is upstairs sleeping. You’re comfortable sitting on the couch you’ve sat on for years, in your familiar living room. Then, suddenly, your iPad dies. You look up. All of your comfort is gone. You stare down at the lifeless once-glowing electronic in your hands and set it down on your lap, taking in the new, odd surroundings. Maybe it’s dark. Maybe the lights are still on. It doesn’t matter. All of your comfort and all the familiarity is gone nonetheless. You start breathing deeper and quicker. Everyone is unconscious upstairs. They might as well be missing. You are alone.

I always come back to this song. It's one of my favorites you've ever made truly. It's lonely and industrial but its still extremely peaceful. i love it a lot.

this is probably my favorite GHOST song. for some reason, it always makes me cry. maybe it's that i've lived it? that i _know_ there's an end to all the depression and gunk. even when it gets bad, i know i can overcome it because i've done it before. it's a melancholy song, but there's an undercurrent of hope. like, "hey, you. it's happening again, and it sucks, but you're strong, and i'll see you on the other side." it's so, so powerful. ghost will never see this, but i want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Can I just say how much I love this song? Because I think I love this song a bit too much. It reminds me of dreams. Like I'm getting nostalgic for a dream I had so long ago I don't even remember.

I noticed at 3:55 that the translation of 千の昨日 was "a thousand tomorrows" and that's incorrect. 昨日 is yesterday, so the correct translation would be "a thousand yesterdays." But if you still wanted to say "tomorrow," you could say 「明日」 which is pronounced 【あした】 or less commonly 【みょうにち】. edit: love this song. sorry if i sounded rude at all!!

i know this is 4 months old, but i found out in the Prinz version of this song (Which is sung in english) that it does infact say 'a thousand yesterdays'. neat little detail

This song really reminds me of the summer of 2019. I’m not sure why but the lyrics just- A The beginning kinda hits hard. The “not sleeping til’ morning look at this colours of the sky” hits different ngl.

Some people are frightened by this song, others are reassured by it, and others feel a sense of hopelessness. In my case, it fills me with a calming vibe. This song makes me reflect on the sad aspects of life. I love this song from beginning to end, and it is my favorite GHOST song. I love all of their songs, they have a unique style and lyrics that make an impact on you, but In lolite in particular, hypnotized me from the first time I heard it. It's vibe is very original to other songs, and I haven't heard another song that makes me feel like this one. If I could meet other songs that make me feel the same as In lolite, I would be very happy. In lolite gives me the feeling of being calm, because there is no hope anymore. "Why keep fighting if there's nothing to do anymore, let's better smile and wait for our end". Yes, that's the feeling it gives me, although if I go deeper into the song, the calm will be replaced by sadness. I don't know what else to say, how to express what this song makes me experience. I can only say that this song will stay deep in my soul. Thank you GHOST for creating this song, I don't know how it would have been if it never existed.

Trin-Sanity Studios I think it’s about the singer’s significant other being sent away (maybe for war?) they wait and wait but they never come home. They find out that they died, and slowly loose all hope in everything, reminiscing about the old days and slowly feeling like they’re losing their mind

I love the way this song and video meld together. All the work you produce has such a strong presence. The tonality and mood shine through in everything. With this piece especially I loved the use of a vocaloid. Not to say the English cover was bad (because I freaking love it too, the vocals are absolutely gorgeous) but there’s something about the eerie nature of a robotic tone being emotional that is hauntingly beautiful. Thanks for another stunning song.
