Ghostblade was cured of Kazan's infection by letting it be permanently replaced by the ghost instead, and in this game Berserker's (who is still possessed by Kazan) win quote against Ghostblade is like "it's strange... I don't feel any bloodlust against you" because Kazan seeing Ghostblade perceives that he is not a living creature

Currently, he had to choose to keep the memories of his wife or his daughters. He decided to keep the memory of his kids, because this way he at least knows he had someone in his life.

DNF Duel + Project L are definitely the games that will scratch my insane itch. I said this once and I’ll say it again, You can literally main the entire cast without thinking twice. Once you learned what moves and specials combo into each other thats it lol.

To answer the question Max asked: Berzerker and Ghostblade are both Fighter classes, but they are two completely different specializations. It's common in eastern/anime style MMOs to have specs (often called Jobs) to play in vastly different fashions from one another, some times even having different weapons. My understanding is that all characters in DNF Duel are displayed in their 1st awakening forms in Dungeon Fighter.

I’d like to add that I haven’t found too many bad matchups, for instance I was using Vanguard against Ranger and I was not zoned out and I used Crusader against Striker and I was not completely shut out by Strikers speed and mobility. Of course I don’t know much about DNF as a whole so I most likely have no idea what I’m talking about. Can anyone clarify me?

Don't feel bad for playing a character you like tbh every fighting game will have people who complain about something they find difficult to beat. If balance is a issue then that's solely up to the developer. What people should be doing is taking the time to explore the match ups to find what works best for them. I fought a crusader 15 in a row until I developed a sound strategy to beat the guy you just can't get a frustrated like all these people do. let's be real you can't win them all and you don't get better as a player by immediately calling for nerfs because somethings difficult to beat.

Played some games today with ghostblade, so much fun, the game feels great. BTW Max, the teleport with attack is S1 + forward (can rekka 3 times, and you can teleport to the ghost with that too). Plus jump + s2 is a great combo starter (covers half the screen + the second hit is a launcher)

I think Ghostblade is pretty balanced, however I have one small issue when fighting him. I come across a few situations where the ghost blocks the character, and it is extremely difficult to make out what moves they are making. I don't know if im seeing things wrong, it's a bug, or it's intentional.

I would think it to be intentional to use in mixups, like in other fighting games where a person follows their projectile when approaching to mask their decisions. Though maybe to help this they could make the player show up in front of the ghost(unless they already do that.

I like this game and its graphics a lot. But I’m pretty new to 2-D fighting games. I just hate the lack of movement in them. It feels like I’m moving in cement boots and with the lack of sidestep, I find it difficult to get out the corner. Shit really pisses me off. But imma keep trying to get better.

The big matchup is Crusader vs Grappler, since Grappler reversal beats 5m and he has command grabs to remove Crusader buff, invalidates half of crusader's kit

So I came back to comment on this video after putting a lot of time into Ghostblade and I've noticed an underlooked "OP" aspect of this character and it part of his defensive capabilities his teleports are VERY powerful. Getting out of corner pressure is a breeze with Ghostblade.

I am not gonna lie this game is amazing but it is also super horrible for anyone casually. As Max said it is all about experience and my experience has been a night of highs then striaght up no point playing attitude. Seriously how hard is it to allow characters to actually have some way to get out of end loop combos that isnt a slow framed 'roll' that can be read with a single normal strike button. It is insane how a game can show off all of this awesome amounts of play and yet allow for players to feel as if they cannot physically do anything about getting stuck in the corner or dealing with bs mechanics that render play useless. Take Dragon Knight (DK) for example, if your playing Ghost you cant go near a (DK) to do any follow up they just spam their dragon jump and get away scott free. Even ghoostblade able to permanently have you in block stun in the corner and get a free overhead jump to 1 frame low and there is not stopping that. Love this game but there is literally no point in even holding the controller in these moments and it just makes it frustrating.

that happened to me in the first beta. Played against someone from korea and i pretty much couldn't press anything- not for attacking or even for just getting in close to attack. I literally felt like i couldn't do anything. So yeah, that's only gonna worse when the game officially releases as we all know, so i won't be playing online. I'd rather watch max play online matches.

@@Iamkiingdrew Honestly it depends on how many similar fighters you’ve put serious time into gettin good at. Most of the people who found safejump setups, dumb damage, frame traps, crazy DK/Kunoi setplay, etc that I personally know were all vets of just about any ArcSys or French Bread game who were right at home with option selecting against defensive tools, open ended cancel systems, and managing multiple resources in real time. Their previous experience had the greatest amount of overlap with DNF’s systems, so they learned and optimized it the fastest. They probably have experience that you can’t see so don’t worry about it...is what I would say if this game wasn’t intent on forcing you to play with randoms by intentionally not loading full lobby lists, allowing invites, or having sophisticated filters so it’s a pain to play with friends even if they specifically look for you and a complete gamble for whether you play someone of your own skill level or a sweaty vet who’s been trying to optimize stuff since the first beta... Fucking Neople. Sorry, what were we taking about, again?

While you have negative MP after using an MP Skill, you're Exhausted until that MP "debt" is paid off by your MP recovery. Until then, you can't use MP Specials. It's pretty straightforward. The duration of the Exhaustion state depends on how much debt you accumulated (using Inquisitor's Burning Wheel, which is expensive af, while at 10 or less MP will take a while) and how good your MP recovery currently is: Using "traditional" inputs for MP Specials initiates MP recovery faster, otherwise it depends on the character, like Dragon Knight having stronger MP Recovery while Awakened AKA having low health and not used the Super yet, and Inquisitor having her MP Recovery start earlier while Awakened.

The only reason Max plays characters like this is because he KNOWS how busted they are. He enjoys busted characters which to me are the reason I avoid playing them in the first place: no challenge whatsoever, no fulfillment learning a character to understand how they work.
