Ghostbusters 2: Louis vs Slimer deleted scene Completed

That's it, basic scratch and frame cleanup all that's needed overall, but I'm done after about 5 days straight of fixing and adjusting this. This is it. Come back to this video cuz I will re-incoporate this footage and provide links to a special edition cut of Bobson Dugnutt's GB2 here when I get it all put together, I got to say it looks extra nice because the slimer glow helps hide the rotoscoping a bit. I've asked Bobson for permission but dude's busy or something, hope he doesn't mind me fixing the scene... Nope I'm not going to try to do any other scenes. Bobson actually did a great job repairing the deleted footage already, just didn't attempt this shot since it is a massive amount of work. Anyway I'll probably get it up tomorrow or something...

I wish they would have kept this scene in the movie. It would have confirmed that the Ghostbusters keep Slimer around like a pet on The Real Ghostbusters.

Yes I've always wanted to know if that was there intentions. I thought if they did Ghostbusters 3 right after part 2 they would keep him around especially when he gave dude a ride on the bus lol because that's how it was on the cartoon. I'm trying to find info on KZbin if they have it, of the cast saying that was what they was trying to do.

Slimer has probably been staying in the attic of the firehouse just like he did in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. I wish Slimer's appearance from the Frozen Empire film had also been used for Ghostbusters II as well.

He's technically not a pet. He's just the only ghost that will sit still for them for testing also the only ghost that didn't leave after the echo containment unit exploded

Louis had a legit point. They would need a backup if one of the guys got sick to where they couldn't catch or fight a ghost or wanted to go on an extended vacation to where they couldn't help the others. They would need a backup.

I'm not sure. I mean Ray, Egon and Peter had at least a few months of busting ghosts on there own, and by the time WInston shows up, its looks like theyre splitting into groups of two. If one goes down, they just revert to the three man ban.

@@matthewsmith3078 That should have been what one of the sequels should have been. Maybe see one like Ray or Winston go to say Chicago or Las Angeles, and establish a new ghost buster. Or maybe bootlegs start to appear, leading to a Walter Peck return, because no new safety codes have been placed with the tech.

I wish they kept this scene in, cause unlike the other deleted scenes this one doesn’t deeply affect time and pacing. It would’ve given us so much subtext to other subplots/plot points/plot elements. Those being that Louis self trains himself to be a ghostbuster, Slimer IS a pet of the Ghostbusters and Louis and Jannie’s relationship kinda starts here. It’s sutle, but still would’ve been effective.

“Why would you want to be A Ghostbuster if you’re already An Accountant...?” That is actually a •genuinely• Good Question..! :D The delicious irony is, that we all know that there are about half a dozen episodes of The Real Ghostbusters where Janine ends up (for various reasons) serving temporarily as The Fifth Ghostbuster herself - often due to necessity and usually not because she wants to be, particularly, but just to prove to everyone (herself included), that if she ever really did want to, she absolutely can - *Old Skool Feminism.*

It’s Canon to itself. Remember in the first season they were actually on the set of the first movie, so Ghostbusters and likely Ghostbusters II are movie versions of their “real” adventures.

Now we know where the clip of slimer came from in the closing credits at 0:28 this deleted scene. It seems that Janine didn’t mind Slimer being around but yet Louis didn’t want him around. He needs to practice with the proton pack before using it I’m sure Egon would not had been happy with this either.

Honestly I wish slimer even for a cameo was in ghostbusters aftermath. I would have loved to see the new gang meet him and the old ghostbusters interact with him again. Oh well maybe if there’s ever plans for a sequel slimer can return

They should have left the scene intact I think the only reason they did it is it serve no purpose to the movie iuic think with the director's cut version that should be released his back into the movie The Scene here a put yourself at Louis Tully position if you saw something like that and you had equipment that you thought could get rid of it wouldn't you use it he doesn't know slime was not going to hurt him think of what happened when he got possessed by the demon dogs he's afraid that will happen again but I love the scene here beautiful job by Rick Moranis
