John Candy was originally supposed to play this character, it was nothing like the way Rick Moranis played it. Rick played it so much different than what they expected they tried to talk him out of playing it like that. Rick convinced them he knew what he was doing. I love the character.

Though I love John Candy, that would've made the character of Louis more of a caricature & taken away from the overall grounded feel of the movie. Imagine superhero movies without. They'd suck cuz you wouldn't be able to make their powers look decent without Cgi. Pretty sure that's the reason batman snd superman were the few live action ones in the past. Superman was basic and batman had no powers!

It's like the movie industry is just relying on CGI to please their audience frankly it's just lazy and no it does not look realistic. For example like the Jurassic Park movies when the dinosaurs were moving around really fast or running yes they would use CGI for those specific moments but when you saw them up close or attacking a someone usually they would use an animatronic to make it more realistic but in the new movies it's all CGI. you barely see any animatronics or real designs that have nothing to do with a computer these days.
