Well, no. Walter Peck isn't totally justified. He makes some valid points about the possible environmental impact, but he goes way beyond that, like shutting down the containment unit he doesn't understand, against the warnings of his own expert, which causes an explosion... which he then blames on the Ghostbusters. And when ghosts start appearing and wreaking havoc over town, he accuses the Ghostbusters of drugging the water to cause hallucinations, which actually makes _less_ sense than "ghosts are real" (really? They managed to make millions of people see the _exact_ same thing?). And being with the EPA and not the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, he has no jurisdiction over the proton packs.

I'd pay to see a reedited version of this movie with that plot. Using careful cgi, some clever editing, and really good makeup, we could make what I would like to call, Ghostbusters 2: The Re-Slimed Edition. Personally, I can't hate anything Ghostbusters does. I'm just too big of a fan. And each one at least gives us SOMETHING! The first one's a classic. The second one has Yadosh, a few funny parts, and good effects. The 2008 game is so good, people consider it the 3rd movie. And the 2016 one, even if you're one of the many people who hated it, at least there were actors that tried, Kevin was kinda funny, and of course, Slimer. Hell, if they wanted a sequel to BOTH Ghostbusters movies, there's a comic where the original GB's created a device that allowed them to go to other universe's to meet the animated GB'S, the 2016 GB's and even the TMNT at one point. If they wanted to save BOTH versions of the GB's, this could he the plot. The originals, with a ghost Egon and Slimer with them create the device and end up meeting the new ones, where they could even joke about version.

Well, it's not exactly a sitcom or basically there is only a single-parent, but I'd say "Beelzebub"-comic started out as one ( although, as the name implies, it was Beelzebub-himself who was being raised, not just any random "evil incarnation" ). Very unfortunate the whole thing got "shonen'ized" far too much far too quickly ( far too big of cast for it's own good in a far little time-span, far too many "power-ups" close to watch other, etc. ). Unsurprisingly the whole thing was canned quite abruptly because of how much it got out of hands. ---

How exactly did they get sued over blowing up a giant Marshmallow god from a different dimension, yet are still considered frauds?
@vampman876 жыл бұрын
My guess is Peck. In my headcanon he managed to sway the jury into believing the Marshmallow Man was a publicity stunt done by the Ghostbusters but it went wrong, resulting in the explosion that blew up the Shandor building and left all its VERY RICH residents homeless. Remember, Peck's theory to the mayor was that the Ghostbusters used noxious chemicals to make their clients hallucinate, then perform a light show that resulted in them "catching" the hallucination and then charging a hefty fee for the service, so using the money to build a giant Marshmallow robot that malfunctioned and blew up isn't above the realm of possibility, especially since the Ghostbusters needlessly had a friggin POLICE PARADE ESCORT to get to the Shandor building, which probably cost the city a lot of money.

I like NC's idea for the second movie. Would have worked so much better. And the reboot should have been a straight-up sequel, not a reboot, with a handing over of the torch from the old cast to a new cast of Ghostbusters. And yes, they could have been all female, and it would have worked, had the writing been good. And the actors. And the jokes. And the director. And the producer.

Basically if it was a completely different movie and everything that went along with it, and I agree 100% the reboot was utter trash and it had NOTHING to do with it being all women, those women that were chosen were just terrible, all it was, was a Saturday night live spin-off ghostbuster movie skit.... their are far better female actresses that could have KILLED those roles and made the movie far better. It's been a long time since I've seen this movie so I'm basing this on Doug's review and I could be wrong. The reason they chose this particular baby was because Janoz fancied himself in love with Dana. By bringing the baby to Vigo to possess, he could force her to be with him. Vigo needed someone to possess. It was Janoz that chose the baby.

I've read both the shooting script for "Ghostbusters" and "Ghostbusters II", and after looking at both of them I think I can see where things went wrong. Nobody knew quite what to expect from the original "Ghostbusters". Akyroyd and Ramis had given a massive overhaul to Akyroyd's original idea and had lots of things in mind, but with nothing set in stone quite a lot changed during production. Peter Venkman's role was originally written for John Belushi. When Bill Murray took it over, he made it his own--ad-libbing almost all of his dialogue and especially his jokes (the only joke that came completely from the script was his bit where he puts his head back in Dana's apartment and says: "...No kiss?"). Louis Tully's role was originally supposed to go to John Candy. When Rick Moranis took it over, he again made it totally his own and brought his improv skills completely to bear and went nuts on set. Sigourney Weaver put her own spin on Dana because this was the first time she was getting a chance to play this kind of role. Even Harold Ramis ended up tweaking the ideas for Egon Spengler because neither Akyroyd nor Ramis had initially planned on Ramis himself playing that role. Basically, a bunch of talented people all had the chance to put their own mark on the film, make the roles their own, and do what was funny and what worked. By comparison, reading the script for "Ghostbusters II", every character is written for the actor who's playing them. That only figures because they were all coming back, but now Akyroyd and Ramis had a universe and personas for everyone in mind and so they tried to tailor their script exactly to them. There wasn't any more "wiggle room" or opportunities to put their own touches on everything. Everyone was just playing out their role as outlined in the script. Sigourney Weaver did a thing or two different with Dana, but that was about it from the original cast. Whereas before Bill Murray had ad-libbed most of his performance, now he stuck to the script. Nobody had the opportunity to put their own spin on anything or give it any fresh injection or life. There was only a single character in the "Ghostbusters II" script in which the actor deviated from what was written and made the role their own. Take a wild guess who. That's right, Janosz. Peter MacNicol basically did with his character what Murray, Moranis, Weaver, Ramis, and the others did with their own characters in the first movie. And as a result, he's the only guy on screen who's fresh, energetic, and actually looks like he's having fun.
