In todays video I take you to all the filming locations around Alberta that were used in the filming of Ghostbusters Afterlife. Many of the scenes are from the trailer for Ghostbusters Afterlife as that is all that we have to go buy until the film come out this November. We visit the apartment were they live at the beginning before they are elected. We go to the locations that made up the fictional town of Summerville, that includes Crossfield , Drumheller , Dorthy and others.
I am super excited for Ghostbusters Afterlife to hit theatres and I am so happy that Alberta was chosen for the backdrop of this film.
I cannot wait for it to come out.

Non-American here. Is it really normal for a small town like Summerville to have such a (seemingly) gigantic supermarket? Seems like an excessive and loss-making business decision. But the residents would be happy I suppose.

I am also a Non American, but as a Canadian I do travel to the US often (well, pre pandemic I did ) Walmarts are everywhere and even in a number of small towns but as small as Summerville ? That is an excellent point. Walmart had a business strategy of coming into small towns and destroying all the small businesses , so when a Walmart opens it would normally put an end to to places like the small hardware store that is also featured . Smaller towns have Smaller Walmarts (Walmart Express.) The Walmart in the movie is a normal sized Walmart because it is only abut 6 km from my home but perhaps in the world of the film it is a smaller one. We would need to talk to The director about that one.

it is weird how they go all over the place to choose these simple junky-looking places to spend 100k to fix it up, to do 5 scenes on. You would think they would just use some place already made. That would work just fine.

Yes that is true. This movie even had a relatively low budget of $75 million. That was almost half of what I cost to produce the 2016 Ghostbusters Answer the call.
