Why do they keep flogging these sequels and remakes of old franchises? Hollywood is so lazy and bereft of new ideas.

What you have to believe is that Nadeem's grandmother took her role of 'firemaster' sooooo seriously that she decked a whole room out in brass but not so much that she'd tell any of her ancestors what she is, what they are, and what they need to do.

I saw this at a an early screening last night. After all the most excellent films of the award season (Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest and Dune) I needed a laugh. And our screening was a fun filled love fest. So many cosplay ghostbusters turned up with amazing gear. Stuff was lit up, automated and realistic! Who knew? 🤷🏾♀️ Wish I could show you the photos! Glad you guys liked this movie. I also am over that character (Atherton) hating on the GB! I thought Phoebe & Melody were gonna get it on! 😂 I Remember Phoebe asked Dan Ayckroyd if he wondered what it was like to be a ghost. Maybe that’s why she became a ghost for a bit but we never knew if she liked the experience though it did turn out badly. I kept thinking: “this is what happens to lonely teenaged girls.” That podcast bit was hilarious to me also. And I loved the age-weariness of bill Murray and the dialogue between Ayckroyd & Ernie about chilling out in their golden years then rejoicing about ghost busting later. basically the plot was so full Of holes like Swiss cheese. My question is: Why were their (Ayckroyd, Murray & Ernie) uniforms so dirty? 😂 The entire audience was so happy after the screening ! Needed that! Thanks guys! 🎞️🍿❤️

The original was popular because it was funny and starred three of the most popular comedians there were at the time. People went to see it not because it was a ghost movie, but that it had three of the biggest star comedians of the time in it. Hudson even was perfectly cast as Mr. Blue collar there for a paycheck. The characters all had a hook. The nerdy one, the too cool one, etc.. These new ones just do not have that hook. The new younger GB's are just too nice and earnest and are not comedians. Paul Rudd the exception but there is nothing except nostalgia where you say, I want to see these new guys do Ghostbusters!

I hated the spirit separation part too, but I think the whole thing IS, he can only control ghosts, but an actual person needs to say the words, so somehow her doing what she did checked both boxes… that’s how I understood it anyway.

There was a video game based on a script from Ackroyd that he was pushing for a part 3. GBs were set up and financed by the city. Your character was a new recruit. Your character played along with other new GBs and along side the OG ones throughout the game as needed to move the story forward. The Story connected part 2 with part 1 and explained why all the ghosts which That element can be seen included in the All female ghostbusters movie. Maybe Akroyd helped with that script.

The soul separation was necessary because the living needed to speak the incantation. You can see her soulless body speaking the words while she’s possessed. That’s we have the scene in the library with the recording and the possessor ghost trying to steal the recording. It was an okay movie and they tried to make it all make sense. Some worked and some didn’t.

Frozen Empire is a good and fun movie, just wish they would give the original GB more screen time in uniform and more time fighting with the proton packs along with the new GB's. In both movies they only get 10 minutes in uniform. ' Please do one more movie with the original guys and let them fight more in uniform. That would be great and the fans would love it. Also it will give us a trilogy with the original Ghostbusters along with the new GB's.

Wanted to like it. Really, really did. Sadly the whole family dynamic seems forced. The humor is forced. All the OG character scenes felt natural and real. But all the new technology, technobabble and new characters just did not jell. NOTE: the bad girl ghost Melody was clearly the spirit of the bad girl Snakebite annie from Doctor Sleep that Danny Torrance killed in the park, same haircut, same clothes, same attitude. So I guess the Shining and Ghostbusters are in the same Universe! That was the best new thing in the whole film.

When Melody appeared, I thought Phoebee would try to find her ''object'' and her story to try to let her move on to see her passed family - they could have more scenes together and build a bigger bond/love story between them. Phoebee could have realized that Melody caused the fire that killed her family and also realized she was helping horny ice king and then feel betrayed - instead of Phoebee becoming a ghost out of nowhere. The ending could have been the same - Melody finding solace by saving everyone and moving on. But tbh, I would have just removed Melody altogether because I wanted more Phoebee, Podcast and Dan Aykroyd dynamic trio - and also Kumail because he looked like he was so happy to be there!

Ok, Joseph, I just saw the movie. Gorock needed Phoebe to separate her spirit from her body, but still be connected to her body. So, as ghost Phoebe was speaking, her living body was speaking as well. It was the words coming from her living body that opened the brass ball, not her ghost words.

A ghost that 'negotiates' with a murderess ghost to outwit a human, and it's unclear of the 'soul separating' part, is a sacrifice or something, for the afterlife for ghosts, is not the comedy part either I guess!

This was a 1/5 for me. I disliked or hated most of the decisions they made in this. Other than some of the chemistry between actors, this was 100% dogshit. The trailer made it seem like NYC would be frozen for more of the movie. It was so brief. And the final showdown just… in the garage lol.

Ghostbusters 2 isn’t very good? I thought it was an amazing follow up. I honestly have no idea why people don’t like it. Clever jokes, a lot of them are more subtle and require a bit more thought: Hi Egon, how’s school? I bet those science chicks really dig that big cranium of yours? “ I think they’re more interested in my epididymis”. Some really intense scenes too, like Ray and Egon getting locked in the room of photographs of Vigo, which then spontaneously combust. The gnarly heads on pikes in the sewer/abandoned subway was absolutely terrifying when I was a kid, and those heads still to this day look like something ripped right out of a horror film. And Vigo in my opinion is just way more threatening than Gozer. He’s an evil warlord/warlock from the 1600’s who has come back to rule the earth, and to do this, he’s going to posses a baby! Really dark themes. What is it about 2 that you don’t like exactly?
