Netflix has greenlit a new animated Ghostbusters series, which will be the third animated version of the franchise:
The series will be written by Elliott Kalan, who also wrote for The Daily Show and Mystery Science Theater 3000. Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, who directed Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, will serve as executive producers.
The series will be 3D animated and have a similar tone to the recent Ghostbusters films.
There is no release date yet.
This is the third animated series in the Ghostbusters franchise, following The Real Ghostbusters (1986-1991) and Extreme Ghostbusters (1997).
Plot details are still under wraps, but the series will be similar in tone to the recent Ghostbusters films.
