I stayed there back in 2009 with a couple of girlfriends and one of them was pregnant. The pregnant one said she woke up in the middle of the night (the rest of us were sleeping) and saw a ghostly figure of a woman and a younger girl leaning over her bed as if they were touching her pregnant belly. She said it wasn’t scary or bad feeling. Of course I said “Why didn’t you wake us up??” But she said she was just in shock /awe/confusion. Lol.

Just stayed there a couple days ago with my family, and can confirm this place is haunted. For one, room 873 definitely was not there. We had stayed on the 8th floor and found it perplexing why it wasn't there. Also, when walking on the eighth floor it felt very off, like we were being watched. This video explained why. But there was another even weirder experience. My family left to go grab some candy and I was playing a mobile game. Later, I had just gone into the bathroom at say 9:50 or so and was going to take a shower when the door handle rattled. I had locked the door so someone wouldn't walk in on me and told them I would be 5 minutes. I had figured my family came back to tell me where they were going. But the only response I received was another rattling. I shrugged it off and took a shower. However, when I stepped out of the bathroom, there was no one in the room. Infact, it wasn't until 20 mins later that my family would come back. When I asked if they had shook the door handle to the bathroom when I was in it, they said they didn't even know I used the bathroom. It creeped me out for sure. That's my experience with the hotel anyways.

Last I was in Banff was 1985, I have to go back. Every time I see this hotel in videos, I have a strange feeling come over me, like its drawing me in, I cry, and I cant explain it, I get mesmerized. I don't know what more to say about that, except I feel a connection to that place, a spiritual experience.

I've stayed at the Banff Springs numerous times. The last time that I stayed there, I was in a room with an adjoining room, at the door was closed and locked. My ex husband and I kept hearing children laughing at random times during the night as well as someone trying to open the door to our room from the adjoins door. When we checked out the next morning, we had asked the Guest Services Agent if there was anyone staying next to us. The look on her face definitely gave it away that the room was vacant which she did confirm to us. As I used to work for the Chateau Lake Louise, I was definitely used to ghost stories and unexplained experiences (which there are several ghost stories that the staff know about), but that night was certainly my most interesting experience lol!

@@HammersonPeters There are several. One of the back spaces that connected to the staff cafeteria had duel elevators. This was called the red room due to the carpet being a deep red. The left elevator would often open when someone would walk by without anyone pressing the button for it. The story goes that back in the 20's or 30's that area used to be open to guests and a young boy was running after a ball that fell into the open elevator shaft, he fell down and died. Just around the corner from the red room was a corridor that connected into the staff cafeteria, and there was a random mirror on the wall. A friend of mine saw a reflection of an older man staring back at him with a creepy look on his face. My friend looked behind him but he was alone in the hallway. I had one of my housekeeping supervisors doing turn down on one of the suites on 8th floor one night. She was completely alone in the room and when she turned back to her cart to grab fresh towels, something kicked her right in the ass! She literally had a foot print on her behind! The story on this room was that a bride found out just before her wedding that her fiancee cheated on her with a chambermaid and she ended up hanging herself in the closet. The closet in question is now a staff storage room, but back when this reportedly happened (also in the 30's from what I heard) it used to be apart of the guest room. One of my managers in the front office had a guest get locked out one night when they went to take a nighttime stroll in front of the lake. He walked back to the front of the hotel doors but they were locked (the main hotel doors are actually off to the side of the lake and those remain open 24 hours) when the guest looked inside to see if anyone was in the hallway, the face of an older woman wearing period clothing suddenly appeared scaring the crap out of him! He walked back around to the main doors and told my manager what just occurred but that was the first time that he had heard of that particular ghost. I would always get a weird feeling as if someone was watching me when I would take the Barrot wing staircases to check on vacant rooms. I never saw anything in those staircases, but it definitely had a creepy vibe to it! The ghost of Tom Wilson is reported to be seen from time to time on some of the guest floors too. It is fascinating that the Chateau Lake Louise has ghost stories but they're much harder to find, unlike the Banff Springs, The Chateau Laurier, The Royal York, The Hotel Vacouver and other Fairmont properties. It most definitely was an interesting experience working for such a beautiful hotel.

... well, this is amazing ... I was expecting a story about a 'Norman' (Valet)? ... over thirty years ago, while I was an employee of the Banff Centre for the Arts ... a Security Guard asked me out for a night-cap to the Rob Roy Room ... it was about 11 p.m. when we arrived at the Hotel & if I remember correctly, we took the stairwell, immediately to the left entering the Lobby ... we had only gone up to the first corner turn when there appeared just stepping down from the lower few stairs, a gentleman in a maroon jacket, with straight black hair ... he was very friendly, with a nice smile & said; 'Good evening ... may I take your luggage'? ... the Security Guard & I, immediately looked at each other in wonderment as we were not carrying any luggage, ... & we quickly declined saying, no thank you ... we proceeded up the stairs, but just in that second we realized how odd the occurrence was ...we glanced back & there was no one on the stairs ... vanished ... I remember a name tag: Norman ... ???? ... he was very old-fashioned vintage looking, maybe from the 20's or 30's .. but, he was very real ... no shadowy figure ...

I honeymooned in Banff. The town itself and the surrounding area are fantastic, just as beautiful as in photos, wonderful people as well. Easily one of my favourite spots in the world. It feels remote but comfy hidden away in the valley, and you can get a coach straight from Calgary. A magical place I'd recommend to anyone, Canadian or no and whether you're an outdoors-y type or not. (I don't work for the tourism board, honestly!)

My experience with the hotel was when I was 19 so I couldn't afford to stay there lol but my friend and I took the lift to the top floor then noticed another lift but small so we got in it and when the doors opened we were in probably the most expensive room in the hotel it was huge two floors balconies library the lady's staying in the room gave us a tour, they thought it was funny that we sneaked up in the lift/elevator it was the room the queen stayed in. But cooler than that the Rolling stones stayed in the room

the stairway pictured is not the stairway the bride was climbing. The real stairway was in the Rob Roy dining room. It at that time connected to the floor above where the ballroom was. It was after the accident sealed off near its top and now is a stairway to nowhere. I worked as a grounds crew around 1980 and was also in charge of watering all the indoor plants, including the ones in the conservatory just off of the ballroom. During that time the stairway was lined with many plants all the way up to the sealed off top.

Yup I have heard of people seeing orbs flying through the forest or hovering in the distance in the forests and Mountains around Canmore. My Uncle , who has passed away, also had told us he had a Sasquatch sighting up near Spray Lakes back in 1982. He was a no bullshit, hardworking man who spent most of his life living near Canmore and spent almost all his free time hunting, fishing, camping and hiking in the mountains around there

I wouldn't think that one of the concierges limited knowledge of the premises constitutes a "ghost room." Then there's the chance that he was lying or certain rooms that were renovated had them covered or removed for safety reasons. My first thought was that he was lying because she was probably remembering the Honeymoon Suite and they were booked at the time. Some people are very "literal" when speaking, so her calling it a "room" instead of a "suite" may have also been an issue.
