@chrislee90664 жыл бұрын
I know that cyclones are limited to removing larger particles, and have read studies stating that the limit is around 5 microns (smallest). The HEPA filters are needed to remove smaller stuff, so I entirely agree with what you've stated. Now, I know they've advertised as *not* needing filter replacement, hmm. Still, the Dyson had a much stronger vacuum than my previous home machines.
@Ecksterphono Жыл бұрын
Thing is as well. Once you start getting into the 2 tier and 3 tier cyclone systems. You sacrifice suction however gain finer dust particle coming out. Because now you have more cyclone restrictions and debris fields in those systems. However the finer the particles the more static cling. What Dyson needs to do is a reversal flow self cleaning setting for the cyclone canister. I wish there was a way to eliminate static cling inside the cyclone outside cavities. The cinetic oscillating tips are an OK idea which I call dynamic shakers to drop the particulate out, however they need to be directed in a way that they go directly into the bottom of the bin. Or Dyson should have a maintenance program where every 6 months to a year during and after the warranty period if heavily used have the cyclone canister taken apart and thoroughly cleaned and all filters checked. That way it may alleviate constantly replacing the filters.

i am in Australia and service/salvage broken Dyson's to fix and have fixed 40-50 machines. from the DC08 to the DC54 (cylinder type) which is popular in Australia. And you are right! the dust passes through the cyclone and clogs the HEPA filter, overheats the motor and kills the carbon brushes. Dyson Australia has repeatedly refused to answer questions about how or why its happening and their advertisements claim no filters to replace which is completely false. the HEPA filters should be replaced yearly or once every 2 years depending on how often its used.

I thought I would “upgrade” to the Big Ball Cinetic about 5 years ago and it’s terrible. It is weak sauce. And because it doesn’t have a pre motor filter you can’t get the smell out of the machine. With the D17 I never had unpleasant odors. Don’t buy a Cinetic. They are cheap, weak, stinky, and total waste of money. I got a Rainbow E2 Black, right before they changed to the SRX, and I love it! It’s a lot to setup and teardown but it works fantastic and smells amazing with the scented oils in the water.

@Edbrad7 жыл бұрын
Dyson Cinetic is clearly not built to last, judging from their marketing. Otherwise they would have to say that there was a filter to clean,. Some Dyson fans seem to think it's possible it's HEPA filter work as intended and catch all the dust and whatever else but then like magic NEVER needs changing or cleaning. Well anyway, the point is if Dyson says it doesn't have any filters that need cleaning or changing then they must either be saying they have some kind self cleaning filter for their filter or they're actually saying it's true so long as you don't use it more than this much for this long for this purpose. But you know that doesn't sound half as snappy to a marketing dept as NO FILTERS TO CLEAN, which as so often is the case decided to market a product they wish they had rather than what they actually had.

To be fair, it is mostly carbon dust from the motor. Unless they use a digital motor (which they did in a vacuum for flats, rather unsuccessfully) carbon dust is inevitable. I think its a decent performance personally. Thanks for a great video!
@PerformanceReviews6 жыл бұрын
See my other videos on the subject more than 50% of the dust and debris going into there is stuff that bypassed the cyclone which only traps dust down to 5 microns.
@Dirty_Bear226 жыл бұрын
Performance Reviews to be fair the standard Dyson pre filters were about 5 microns if I removed correctly. The few cases of plugged up Cinetic Dyson’s are probably caused by consumer misuse from over filling them. Lots of people tend to fill Dyson bins until the entire cyclone shroud is covered, when the shroud is covered with debris the air flow and air speed in the cyclones is severely impacted thus causing reduced dust rejection efficiency which can severely reduce life. The takeaway is that it’s extremely important to keep the cyclone shroud clean and emptying the bin at or before before reaching the max line, especially on Cinetic Dyson.
@vacuumtests92254 жыл бұрын
@@Dirty_Bear22 Few cases! They all let a lot of fine dust to the motor. And huge problem with the cyclone systems is that they limit airflow A LOT. That is why bagged vacuums are far more powerful.

@@vacuumtests9225 ultimately cinetic dyson vacs were to finicky and production was stopped. The small sample of 5-6 cinetic dyson vacuums I seen only had a light coating for dust in the motor area, and mostly carbon dust on the filters. Wow. I like Dyson vacuums but this model is probably not the best of the dysons. I am not surprised there is a hepa filter. Idk if you know this but the motor has graphite in it and when the motor spins, the graphite gets shredded into fine particles and that needs to be filtered out. Honestly, Dyson should have admitted there is a hepa filter and made it replaceable. Its a good thing these pieces of crap are discontinued. Bring back the older models like the DC14, DC17 and the DC25! Another thing I like better about older dysons is the pedal to recline the machine. It prevents accidental reclining. I don’t collect vacuums but I currently own my family’s old DC14 and a DC24 i got from goodwill. And my family has a UP13 which works great.
