Awesome video! I have this saved in favorites as I don't clean the vacuum cleaner often. However, there is one part that you missed. You can remove the clear plastic cylinder and there is a mesh band filter around the gray base. I used an old toothbrush to clean this. It gets dusty and doesn't allow for good airflow.

I also cleaned the mesh and it solved the problem of the pressure relief valve staying open.

Hallelujah! The little tube on the back was my problem and you are the only video to show that! After following all these other video cleaning the canister, unscrewing and checking the hepa filters in the ball, and taking off the brush I was at a loss! Then you showed the back flexible tube. Winner winner! Sure enough I pulled out a magnet, a wire, a bobby pin and huge compacted ball of hair. So that explains that!! Thank you so much.

I saw one of your other Dyson Vacuum videos so I went looking for more . i ran across this amazing video. you are not like all of the other people that try to tell us how to do this.. I think YOU have the most KNOWLEDGE about this item .. and actually show us how to fix the problem ! Thank You for sharing how to work and fix Dyson vacuums I REALLY APPRECIATE IT !!

We ran into some major issues with our Dyson's suction failing pretty big. We went after all the usual suspects, still no change. I had NO IDEA that the bottom piece came out like that and my lord was there a ton of crap in there. After we removed all the stuff out of there, the vacuum was good as new. Thanks for making this video, you probably saved us a bunch of time and money on trying to either repair or replace what should normally last years and years. Cheers!

Thank you so much! My Dyson is only 6 months old and quit working. I was so disappointed. I never knew I was supposed to clean out those places. Oh the things I found! Thank you for a thorough, easy-to-understand, explanation of how to care for my Dyson!!!

Though an old video, you just helped me fix my vacuum cleaner. Never underestimate or undersell yourself. The very end of the video where you decided to cover the hose is the part that helped me most. THANK YOU!

Thank you very much. I have had my Dyson big ball for almost a year. It lost most of the suction quickly this morning. I was able to use all of your trouble-shooting info to find the clog. I don’t have long hair, no pets, but I do tons of sewing. Even though, I try to pick up threads as I go, I could not believe what I pulled out today. I am careful to check the beater bar often, and that is a must. Thanks again!

Thank you Logan. Managed to find the blockage with your help. It was a nickel that lodged in the hard plastic tube of the wand portion! Wouldn't have found it without your video! Thanks again.

I was able to watch your video and quickly did the replacement without any issues. THANK YOU for wonderful video!!!

You are a life-saver!! I bought a refurbished Dyson Big Ball Animal+Allergy that worked great for the first two weeks. Then, once I tried out some of the attachments, the suction reduced to barely anything and the handle wouldn't fit completely back into the hose. I detached the short hose on the underside of the vacuum and saw that at the bottom of the main hose (inaccessible from where I was looking) a snapped-in-half pencil was wedged in the curve there. I never use anything but pen so I suspect this exact problem is why it was returned by the previous owners. My experimentation with different attachments must have jostled the pencil from whatever position it'd been in that allowed the vacuum to work normally at first. I was at a loss of what to do as I'd gotten a great deal on the vacuum and really, REALLY didn't want to have to return it. Luckily your video showed exactly how to access the area I needed to in order to remove the pencil and my vacuum is working like new again. You are very appreciated, sir!

Great video thanks a lot! You almost lost me at the beginning, because you were stating minimal maintenance needed. I came looking while very frustrated with the wand not sucking. I had tried cleaning this thing so many times and didn't check the wand it self for clogging, lol. I was only cleaning the main container, hoses, and brush roll. After removing the wand from the hose and sticking a rifle bore stick in, I found the wand was totally clogged with dog fur clots. Problem solved, working like new, and I almost gave up on Dyson!

Thank You. You are the only dude on KZbin who helped us fix it. We had lots of fine dust impacted/blocking the super fine mesh filter hidden inside the refuse collector. Cleaning that was key.

Thanks Logan. Your video was more informative and helpful than the video sent to me from Dyson. I was able to clean out my vacuum following your instructions, however, my main issue was my canister and cyclone needed cleaned. But because of your troubleshooting steps, it led me to the canister. Thank you so much.

I just want to thank you so much for this video! My dyson cinetic vacuum was making this loud sucking noise out the back. I tried on my own to get this to work and I didn't see anything stuck. Then I followed your video and it was the part where you take off the back hose under the vacuum (2:41 minutes in video) and I found a large blockage. It works perfect now!

Yay! Thank you so much!! We knew we had a problem with the suction, but never guessed how much cat hair was clogging up the machine. You explained everything and we found the problem. Also thanks for the extra pointers of using a chopstick to get stuff out of the hose. Worked like a charm. The only thing is I wish there were close-ups when you worked on clips and things. But we got it. You saved us $$$ and lots of aggravation.

I came here hoping I would find out the problem with my Dyson. I bought it August 2017, it started making awful screeching noises as you vacuum, on the phone (on hold) with Dyson CS, there are 98 calls ahead of me. I will post feedback on the issue in about 3 months when they pickup. Apparently, this has been a problem with this particular model/year. Great video otherwise for basic issues. Thanks

I’m having trouble with my vacuum myself it won’t allow me to vacuum things up easily like before Idk if it clogged.. I checked the bottom and damn there was hella hair so I cut it all out emptied the tube as well with a lot of hair, dirt and dust. But the only thing I can’t do is how to clean the inside of the tube.. I can’t figure how to open it cause I see a lot of hair inside and it’s hard for me to get it all out, i need help please!
