I throughly enjoy watching your work! The time that you spent cleaning the units really is impressive! Good old fashioned quality work like yours is hard to find, keep up the great job! Thanks for sharing your videos and we all enjoy them.

I like these videos and actually view the whole thing and not distracted elsewhere by just listening to the sound. Runtime is just the right so as to not be bored or overloaded with info.

I just picked up a "Revelation", and from what I was told is the earliest form of Compact. It has the exhaust down at the bottom like you mentioned.

Just watched your video. The Compact I have was bought from a "door to door" salesman in the sixties. A local accessories/repair shop installed a new cord a few years ago. I agreed that the motor was on it's last legs. Well, it just died - or expired since the last time I used it. Now I'm hoping to repair this old classic. I figure, if I can restore a 66 Mustang ... Kind of amazed to discover these vintage machines are still around and in use. Cool!

I have a turquoise compact out in the garage. My mom bought it in January, 1968. She paid $205 for it. Her cousin needed a new vacuum. If she got enough people to buy one, she got a free one, so my mom bought one. After we left home, she didn't clean/wash the cloth bag. She had to get the motor replaced in the late 1970s, and had no more trouble with it until I called dibs on it. My nephew picked uthe hose and turned on the vac to try it. That vac lasted only as long as my mom did. When I opened it up to empty the bag, I don't think she opened it since I left home in the 1970s. I don't think she washed out the bag since the last time I washed it in 1978. I fixed vacuums when I was in college. I think I'm, going to try to replace the motor in this one.

Thanks for the video! I had to repair my compact because I got electrocuted by the switch due to a “nice” wiring job done by I assume the original owner. I just had to rewire everything and make it sucure. Works great now and is my new favorite vintage vacuum!

We grew up with this exact turquoise model. It was very nostalgic to watch and listen. We called this vacuum “the pig 🐖 “

I remember my Mom had one of those when I was a kid. She ended up getting rid of it because I kept taking the sand out of it and playing with it when I was in the bathtub. It was a really fine sand that went into the first bag, about a cup of it. She ended up getting a Rainbow in '73 and got rid of it 2 years later when my brother vac'd up Jell-O with it a few times, when he was 5 y/o. BTW, they weren't aluminum but an alloy of aluminum & magnesium called Magnalite. Not sure when they stopped using the Al/Mg alloy

I've got a similar one that seems to be missing the power switch. Although this video didn't quite touch on my issue, I think you've given me the info and confidence I needed in order to set about MacGyvering a replacement onto it. Thank you.

Having had Electrolux's (pathetically overpriced) Hoovers, Kenmore (various builders), and everything in between, NOTHING touches an early Compact. I have had a C-7 (same model except for wheels) for 35 years and I got it used. No filters, no bags and it still kills it!. Indestructible, powerful and cheap.

@@PerformanceReviews I don't understand why people don't use disposable bags.. Those machines were not meant to have the cloth bag used as a dust collector. The cloth bag is a stabilizer for the paper bag..

I have a Patriot and a Compact from the early 70s. I used to hate canister vacs due to the filtered air going through the motor, still dust in it. But, the bearings have proven to hold up for decades regardless so now I'm a fan. Have to have a vac, might as well get a good one, vintage, or just one you like. I'd rather have metal, I have a working vac that's 100 years old, metal, and works pretty good. I don't think that's going to happen with the plastic ones. Somebody put it to me this way, plastic is slowly drying like paint, just much slower, year after year decade after decade, shrinks, cracks. I need to clean out the Compact, couldn't figure out where the screws were, thanks for posting the vid.

Sometimes you have to sing it to a customer: "Oh, listen to the jingle, and the rumble and the roar..." If you can get them to smile, it makes them feel more motivated.

When I look at this machine I think of the lost opportunity in that Sebo could have made the Airbelt E a small variation on the Airbelt D.
@PerformanceReviews7 жыл бұрын
+Bruce Solomon how so
@LlyleHunter7 жыл бұрын
I like the top fill design. I was very surprised that Sebo made a very conventional machine. I like that Sebo usually designs their machines to maintain powerful suction while the bag fills like the filter on the G1 and X4 as well as the Airbelt D. I like the E series but it's as conventional as a Miele.

I don't know if you're still reading comments about these TriStar vacuums but I have one similar to this and the motor just died. It was making a weird noise while I was using it and then it stopped. While trying to figure out what was going on with it it turned on briefly and I could see green sparking from the motor and then it stopped again. Is this fixable? New motor? Repairable motor?

Hi, doing some research on KZbin and your vid came up on the repair of old Compact vacuums. We have a model C-7 Compact / iec Electra. It has lost power and the motor is making loud noises and when we got it apart I found what looked to be roller bear pieces on top of the motor. What motor would you suggest to replace this old one. Thanks.
