They really did an awesome job on the difficulty too. Its hard and as far as my experience its just as hard as the first one but its a different kind of difficulty that surrounds remembering your tools and learning how to use them, but isnt so hard that you have to be restricted to certain skills and upgrades which is super super nice. This is how a sequel is done. Bigger and better. But doesnt antiquate the first game. Kind of like MGS.

They don't ban for glitches or speed running and never have, they just nerf the tech. They have gotten better since the worldline removal and eager edge nerf, leaving in well and shatterskating, but them putting a speed limit on Mountaintop boosting recently was bs. But they only ban if you're netlimiting or injecting code to speedhack, skip or go through walls....oh and using macros now as well which is ridiculous.

Really enjoyed this developer commentary. GR2 was an awesome game, and it's clear from the commentary that they enjoy both the process of making the game and having speedrunners deconstruct their mechanics. It's nice to see.

the worm boss fight is actually much harder when using the acceleration tap trick just due to timings and wacky collisions, by far the most frustrating part for speedrunners. Sometimes you go so fast at the very last part that you can't shoot the worm heart just because the impact of landing the bike sends your gun too low

well the only thing he wanted to fix was the 16 second level which tbf is a valid point when everyone spent crazy amounts of time making the entire level to be done in 16 secs

@@ixLlama yeah but lets be honest, the average player will not complete any level in 16 seconds an see all of the work dev's put in the game, and speedrunners will find to way a speedrun anway, so why fix it?
