+NYK Jay Ironically, the sniper scopes in Ghosts are more realistic than BO2's. In real lofe, you don't shove your eye socket into a scope, your eye is a few centimeters from the scope so you can still see through the scope but you're too close to it.

At 4:27 is the Autumn camo, it has probably been changed in the recent update to make it colourful, and remember this is Xbox One. The purple and yellow as you probably know is the Spectrum Camo :)

I like the A2 with chrome lined and armor piercing, and focus. I like the added damage from chrome lined and the armor piercing rounds negate ballistic vests, which has been useful.

I think we need to have a advised 'Driftor' RoF per weapon.... Based off of Recoil and the guns actual RPM. So say its a 400rpm sniper rifle but as he said, that's too much for the recoil. He could suggest for us to aim more for 300rpm or share a tactic for slowing us down for that achieved RoF. Maybe more could add to this idea, but I think their may be something to this that's new and fresh to the entire review processes on youtube

I think these weapons are good staples in Multiplayer. Not Overpowered, although there may be a slight imbalance when CQC is considered for the Maverick. I hate when people use Thermal on the A2, though. Ticks me off that they waste 5 of their points removing the main point of using this sniper.

Comments on the Maverick A2 surprise me; ordinarily I agree with Drift0r's weapon reviews but I found myself disagreeing with most of what he said. It's all subjective of course, but I find the sights on the A2 to be exceptionally clear and easy to use. Completely agree on ADS time however; I didn't realise it was as long as 0.5 seconds but you can tell it's slow as soon as you use the weapon. I also found Chrome-Lined to be surprisingly effective on the A2 as the recoil upon firing doesn't feel half as drastic as it does on something like the L115. Good video as always though Drift0r. I always enjoy watching your In-Depth episodes.

The rifle itself you could say is pay to win. Yes you could argue that it's only a two hit kill at a severely close range, but it's still a brutally long three hit kill range. The problem i find with the rifle is that at least the Peacekeeper didn't pretend to be a general purpose weapon.

***** Mr-28 is only 50 RPM slower and ADS is the same. Now some people call crap on RPM consistency but for me I can get it right at the limit. Recoil is a little a better on the Maverick. The range though is not even comparable. The Mr-28 has a 32 meter 2 shots to kill range to the Mavericks 37 3 shot kill range.

tacamo21 Close quarters kill power is the complaint here. The same was true for the MSBS. It's not a Type 95, but neither was the MSBS. The fire rate is still better on the maverick. Having a good fire rate on the M28 is a skill, and isn't inherently overpowered.

According to this the sniper would get 1-hit-kills every where except for the elbows down and foot/knee down with chrome lined. Yet I use chrome lined with it and I've been getting a TON of hit markers. Like almost nearly half of my shots get hit markers. I know I'm not a great sniper, but none of the other sniper rifles are like that for me. And this apparently has a huge ohk area. This just doesn't make sense to me. Anyone else feel the same way?

At 88 damage rather than 98 like the USR or the L118 you can fairly guess that the drop off at a far distance is closer than it appears to be. I don't think Drift0r tested distance like the range for Stonehaven, which would really allow you to feel the one-hit kill distance like he's pointing out.

wika1984 Most sniper rifles don't have a damage drop-off factor. The VKS attenuates in damage at range but it is likely the Maverick does not.

If you put the focus perk in your sniper class setup it will dramatically decrease your idle sway.

You people should really test out how this gun works with the deadeye perk. Deadeye greatly improves its 2 shot kill range and it almost guarantees 3-4 shot kills at ANY range depending on how many kills you already have. I'd really like Drift0r to test this.

I thought it was noteworthy that the Maverick sniper still has tracker functionality and the same big square window when you put variable zoom scope on it. Pretty nice if you are still trying to unlock your ghillie suits.

I use the Maverick A2 sniper when I quick scope using chrome line and armor piercing and it is a beautiful combination

Chrome lined would obviously increase idle sway, but it would lower recoil, given that the extra speed the bullet has is nothing compared to the extra mass the gun gets.

i dont think you understand what a chrome lined barrel is for/does. chrome is basically for corrosion protection , to make the barrel easier to clean and to make the rifling cool aster so it doesnt "burn out" quickly from sustained fire, especially if your using old milsurp or other corrosive primed ammo. when you chrome a barrel the rifling isnt as sharp so you have reduced acuracy compared to a steel or other barrel. melonite and ferritic coated barrels. ferritic barrels (that coms stock on alot of the better AR-15s like LWRC) actually have far grater muzzle velocity than chrome. also chrome lining has almost the same or less weight than steel so if the outer profile of the barrel is the same (LW, HW, ect profiles are sort of the same outer diamiter for mounting things) it should weigh less. so chrome has almost no effect on weight and actually reduces velocity substantially and accuracy a small amount compared to the coating process that comes stock on most nice modern firearms or just a steel barrel.

I believe the answer is yes, but someone please confirm, at the ranges where the damage drops off, lets say the 37 meter 3 shot kill range, the 30 meter in between that and the 7 meter 2 shot kill range, does the damage constantly go down? Does it go to 43 damage, 42 damage then all the way down to 33? Or does it stay at for example 43 damage at all times in between 7 and 37 meter? Is it a sharp drop off, or a gradual one. Sorry if I made this confusing please try and understand what I'm asking.

I find the Sniper with the Suppressor is great, sure you don't have that High damage across the body but if you're using a sniper you shouldn't be running with it anyway. the Return to Center when after your first two shots seems rather quick for a sniper rifle in Ghosts, maybe that is my imagination but it definitely forces you to be accurate.

i don't really agree on that this is a cq weapon. the very low fire-rate just doesn't fit cq, the FAD and ARX will be severely superior. instead i'd just see the 2hit kill capability as a little bonus that will help you in cq sometimes. unfortunately it frankly isn't amazing at anything. it may have the best iron sights in the game but then again the AK has very good iron sights aswell and does more damage at range. it's still a fun gun to use though and has a nice sound and feel to it.

Must admit I do like these new weapons in both formats. Neither of them are OP but they are useful. Obviously when the new maps came out I tended to play on those with them but more recently I have been back to playing Standard Core modes to see how well they perform. I find the Sniper variant much more useful in general on these I like the Chrome barrel and Variable Zoom scope attachments in Sniper mode. The Variable zoom still keeps the built in tracker sight but adds the variable element to it and the Chrome barrel (as Drift0r showed) increases the 1 hit kill opportunity. It is usable without attachments as I have my 50 kills without but find this the best combo. The AR could do with a bit of a higher fire rate as it rounds down to much to be effective at range but it is still good to use. The AK and Remi are better and in particular on the disc maps!

Nice video but with my set up I disagree which is easy to say right? Well basically I figured everyone would use the Maverick therefore no one would have an advantage. So I'm using Deadeye Perk with a Muzzle Break and a Fore grip to give myself the advantage over everyone else using the same game. I've played a lot of games with that set up and I'm getting a lot of long range kills and unlocking camos like crazy. I'm hearing a lot of ppl saying it's patched and doesn't kill from range but with the set up I use I have no problems. Xb1/Clan TTGO-ellyazar

It takes down ALL air craft (hints the name, "Air superiority") and there is no way to avoid it's missiles. Although, it's hardly used because people hardly have air craft.
