The bulldog emulates the Metalstorm shotgun (the first of its kind), the Maul. Metalstorm uses electronic triggering systems so they can stack multiple bullets into the barrels of their guns, going bullet+charge, bullet+charge until the barrel is full, then electrically sparking the charge at a precise point in the barrel so they can fire all the bullets almost simultaneously. They finally worked out how to do it with shot, so they made the Maul.

the mechanic the bulldog's cylindrical magazine emulates is a mechanic that is being developed in real life by a company called metalstorm. the basic concept is that the tube is a giant casing for all of the bullets (or pellets/slugs in this case). all of the rounds are stacked one after the other and the primer is replaced by an electrical shock that is sent to the gunpowder behind the bullet at the front of the tube

The Bulldog is emulating [5:32] the Maul shotgun made by Metal Storm (Aus). The Bulldog works great on Strikezone, Tremor and Flodded. Would also suggest that you replace fully loaded, on the go and and your tactical nade with agility and sitrep/dead silence.

It's a real shotgun made by a company called Metalstorm, I believe. It uses an electromagnetic trigger mechanism. They also make pistols, rifles, AA defenses. Crazy stuff, bro

Didn't read all the comments since I'm on my phone, so I don't know if this has been answered. The Bulldog uses the Metal Storm electronic firing system with stacked rounds in the barrel itself. The reload is actually exchanging the whole barrel.

The bulldog works just like the metalstorm artillery weapon. There are shells lined up in one barrel and each shot is fired by sending a electronic signal down one of the shells.

hey this is a little off topic but, i have come across a great new class set up, i call it God Mode. its the MTAR-X with grip, muzzle brake, and rapid fire. Secondary: P226 dual wield and extended mags. Perks: Extra Attachment, Fully loaded, ready up, steady aim, focus. Specialist: Agility, SOH, Marathon, ICU, OTG, Reflex, Scavanger, Gambler. I destroy with this. Chaosxsilencer actually had the gun set up first so credit goes there for the MTAR-X part.

The weapon system the bulldoge is, uses caseless rounds, which is basically just powder, in the tube, with probably plastic separating the shots, and the trigger sends electric pulses to the powder, igniting it.

My most used gun , with 9000 kills and 2.13 kd but all FFA , steady aim is great but not essential , agility and marathon is essential , sit rep over steady aim, just because of ied s are every where, amplify and dead silence a must

So I looked up the Bulldog IRL because I thought it was made up BS, and it turns out it is pretty cool. It's real life counterpart is called the MAUL and it's made by Metal Storm. The shotgun rounds are stacked in the barrel (they call it a munitions tube) and fired in order from front to back by electrical pulses sent down the barrel when you pull the trigger. Cool tech.

Overall, the shotguns are weak in Ghosts. However, that doesn't detract from the fact this gun is overpowered. Needs a damage/fire rate reduction.

Maybe the damage reduction, but this gun is not overpowered. The other shotguns need a massive buff. This gun has a very small range, so it can only do close quarters combat.....it's a shotgun, it's suppose to kill fast up close.

The weapon is based off a Metal Storm shotgun. The projectiles and propellants are stacked in a tube and selectively fired off electrically. The magazine and barrel are the same physical tube.

I use tac without slugs. I tested it and the 1 shot range with and without slugs is pretty much the same. Slugs give a much farther 2 shot range though. I can 1 shot kill from good distances and don't need to spam so I rarely even need to reload unless I'm on like a 10ks. I also don't see a huge difference between aiming and hipfire with steady aim despite the smart choke. I looked at spreads on walls with both and thru expierience didn't notice much differnce. In the time the bulldog kills I'll 1 shot from much farther distance.

Shotguns are fun to use but you're right Drift0r, they aren't very practical in ghosts. With that in mind, depending on how you play, the game type, and the map you can actually do pretty well with a shotgun. Kill confirmed on tremor for instance, where there are many rooms and lots of tight corners. Strikezone is about the only other good option for a shotgun, but even on strikezone you pretty much have to camp in the bar area.

I do pretty well with it on flooded too. Just stay in the building that has the water on the 1st floor (not the parking lot building) and if you have surround sound on your headset you can hear people running near or underneath you just drop in for a quick kill and be on your way

Shotguns are fun on Fog and Free Fall (especially Blitz) too. When I use the Bulldog, it is definitely with marathon, agility, steady aim and sleight of hand in a confined high traffic area on objective disciplines. Fun stuff.

He bulldog reminds me of bo1 spaz12. That gun was a beast in bo1 yet no one ever bitched about it. It was seriously way too good especially compared to the other shottys. Plus it's range was unaffected by a silencer. To me that gun was way OP. It'shit kill range was almost that to the R870

Drift0r, I believe the bulldog shotgun to be based off of an Australian R&D project known as "metal storm" It's actually electromagnetic, rather than traditional gunpowder, that propels projectiles forward. You should look it up sometime, It's facinating. The projectiles are also stored in the barrel.

You said in the bulldog video you were not sure of the mechanic of how changing out the barrel reloads the weapon.. The bulldog is made by a company called Metal Storm and uses electricly fired caseless ammo that is stacked in a row in the barrel and fired by a small electrical spark behind each round. Using this method they have made a multi-barrel turret gun that can fire up to 1 million rounds per minute ( yes 1 million) just search Metal Storm on youtube. Its something to see for sure. Hey Drift0r, I'm not entirely sure, but I think you can avoid being detected by Motion Sensors if you jump like if it was an IED on the ground. I've experienced this twice in one game while playing in Matchmaking. I haven't tested it out via Private Match, but maybe you could prove that right or wrong?

The bulldog is roughly modeled after the underbarrel breaching shotguns they use in the military. The cylinder you put in the barrel is full of shot charges that are electronically fired. This seems to just be a very beefed up version of that gun. Not an expert but that's roughly how the "bulldog" works.

The bulldog is a weapon design from Australia. The pre-loaded barrel with electronically fired shells is nifty technology. As far as I can tell it uses the pressure or strike design found in ignitors for gas grills with the trigger acting as the pressure or strike instead of batteries or any electrical storage devices being used. Don't quote me on that however because I'm not 100% sure. Regarding balance I won't call it OP as much as I would call all the shotguns weak. The idiots who complained about OP shotguns from COD's past should have been ignored by IW unless they were thinking of MW2. Since Ghosts has huge maps, and since shotguns are primary weapons, every shotgun should get buffed with the bulldog getting the smallest. And all should have some interesting traits such as the MTS-255 having the highest fire rate in class when hipfired with an interesting character animation of one hand holding the weapon and the other hand rocking the action of the gun old western style. PLEASE BUFF the slug rounds. The KSG from BO2 was God awesome, my favorite shotgun in COD history, and was not OP, nooooooooo way. It required skill to use so shut up haters. More than anything I would like to see COD do away with pellet disappearance or at the very least increase the max pellet range to 24 meters. They could still be balanced and varied by fiddling with shot dispersion, pellet damage (max. and min.), damage drop ranges, and fire rate among other factors. Plus I think the Silencer should have no effect on pellet range, only damage. No one would have complained about the Striker from MW3 if the other shotguns were much stronger. I loved the SPAS 12 after IW buffed it. My thoughts.

Commando was ridiculous. The knife range with it was confirmed to be something like 8 meters or so. In terms of distance figures in CoD, 11 meters vs 8 meters is not very far. That would be like maybe having the lunge go for an extra half second.

Knee Sliding is far better then Dolphin Diving. Dolphin Dive tends to be more for just fun, but sliding actually allows you to use it to your advantage to win gun fights or try to chase someone that's fleeing.

The stock is folded so that it can store the tubes, which are extra ammo clips.

I feel that On The Go is completely pointless because you already have SOH and it reloads pretty fast. Plus OTG doesn't allow you to reload cancel which can kill you if you like to reload cancel. Also why not run D.S or Focus? Spend the 2 points on something that is better. That's is my philosophy

Although it may not be OP in general, the bulldog is OP compared to all other shotguns. It's fire rate gives it a shorter time to kill at long range than ADS tac-12 (which is supposed to be the longest-range shotgun).
