Ghosts of the Haunted Fort Sheridan in Highwood, IL

I was the cameraman and interview subject on this segment for CLTV's daily entertainment show "Metromix." During this segment we take a look at the haunted grounds of Fort Sheridan near Lake Forest, Illinois.

Lived there for four years on what used to be Norman Heck Ct. There was a phantom horse that you would feel and hear speeding through the South Gate, a phantom Chaplain who was famously photographed during Christmas time in the Officer's housing division, the already mentioned Orange Lady who haunted the event center, and the Library which was a hospital during wartime. The morgue still stood in the library parking lot. I myself witnessed white, featureless faces peering out of the library basement windows despite them being boarded up and painted over black. I also saw the spirit of an elderly woman pass through my room and out of my second-story wall on multiple occasions.

I used to live on Fort Sheridan 1994-1996. I remember people telling about that.

Every time I delivered food there, I felt like there was something eerie about that place. As well as the Schweppe Mansion that was bought and sold recently. 😅

I lived on chatfield court when my dad was stationed there in the 90"s. That whole place had a huge creep factor to it. It ws a very intresting place none the less.

I was there in the early 80s. I had a few creepy experiences and I heard some crazy stories. I'm surprised this guy didn't mention that Fort Sheridan was on the show 20/20 with Barbara Walter's back when it was still a fort. There were news articles about the ghost's. I guess time moved on and people quit caring about the place. It was so cool. Some of my happiest memories were there. It broke my heart to see Fort Sheridan destroyed. All that history just gone. There's not very many pictures left, either. History doesn't make money. 💔💔💔

Tell the story of the 10 German soldiers who died there as POWs. But yet only 9 graves except on certain nights. I was an MP there. And can back up the story with other witnesses

I did some of the cable TV installations in the remodeled buildings flanking the water tower. You'd have to go into a service area that was basically a tunnel that spanned the length of the building. Although it was well lit and with modern lighting, it was still creepy because it was so quiet and you knew the long history. It definitely felt like there were spirits down there watching you

im suprised that the story of the ghost of the drill sargent that yells at people isn't up here. i do my army drills here every month and i cant find where this ghost is at. i've only heard about him

Yeah, when I was there, it was 1999 and was a total ghost town. Very beautiful location now!

Can somebody tell me why all ghostly apparitions have to be a women or a girl in white....there is plenty of colours for clothings even in the 1800'.This is just crazy to hear that 98% of female ghosts are clothed in a white dress...

@@Neku628 Absolutely! Not to mention people (ghosts) that look normal too. And when I was doing my LA ghost tour, there was a phantom male that appeared bronze in color. We certainly can't say WHY apparitions appear the way they do. We may have to wait 'til after death to know some of those answers ;)

it's time for ghosts to get the message and clear out, their time is over and it's time for new buildings and new people to take over
