You will recognize some of her characters she has done on SNL, thats the way most of these Audition tapes are. .i dont get paid to do anything you see in my videos ......i just do this as a hobby ...........thanks for watching !!

SNL has had a lot of funny people over the decades who barely make a dent outside the show. It's much less harsh now, with the possibility of maintaining one's following via social media and youtube etc, but historically if they didn't score a hit movie or show during their tenure or immediately after, it was pretty much the end of their career (excepting D-list roles in straight to video movies). Take away podcasts and how many ex-SNL people would still be visible at all?

It wasn't until the Maya Rudolph-Tina Fey years that the female cast members were given good opportunities post-SNL. Even Molly Shannon has had to cobble together a career and she just started hitting her prime recently as she hit her mid-50s. Also, WOTS is that Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan were both not very friendly and not easy to work with. You can tell based on the fact that you never see them in even bit roles of the movies made by other former cast members.

Oteri's opening sketch was genius. Writing as if she's talking to all these different neighborhood characters showcased so many different personality traits, as well as her range. Next level talent makes her performance seem so effortless.

I miss her more than other cast member! Whenever a skit featuring Cheri aired... you can bet I was all ears and eyes! Unique in her delivery and comic timing, she surely wasn't one to "mail in" a performance.- good or bad. Here's to hoping a hosting gig is on her horizon, even THIS many years later! 🤞 ❤

I grew up watching SNL, and the mid 90's to around 2007 were all great. You'll never find anyone like Cheri comedy wise. She is just so spot on with every movement after her joke.

@@mdntcowboy6500 KITH is great - one of the best sketch comedy shows of all time. An interesting point - KITH was also produced by Lorne Michaels. The Kids existed as a comedy troupe prior, but Michaels saw them and made the decision to give them a show.

An observation for those who criticize Lorne for being stony during these: @4:35 Cheri is nervous, but doing great @4:55 Cheri gets audible laughter (which is shunned) From there, she drops the character and reverts back to herself, playing to (and with) the few who laughed. It sucks the air right outta the performance. As a huge Oteri fan, I'm glad he saw through the crippling silence. The faux-pas of trading what was planned in favor of audience-participation cheapness could've killed her chances entirely.
