I know I were thinking about it, but I wasn’t too sure. Plus in like 10-12 episode or something when Naruto stabbed himself, and when the injure were healing, kakashi was like “could this be the ninetails” in shock. But you are right he knew :)

This is just my opinion:I think if naruto died when he was still a kid the konoha village would already be destroyed when the akatsuki attacked them and if naruto wasn't there everyone would die when the 4th shinobi war happened
