A niche but useful combo I've used a few times is if you have your Askaan ready to be banished when it leaves the field (either because it was summoned using Ghoti Chain or you used Snopios' effect on it) and you use it to synchro into Deep Beyond, If you trigger Askaan's effect as chain link 1 and Deep Beyond's as chain link 2 then Askaan resummons itself after the board wipe so you don't get left defenseless and are set up for another level 10 synchro on your turn.

Wow. I just googled Ghoti Deck 2023 to see if there was anything interesting and found this incredible video detailing not just deck lists, but an in-depth look at the combos that's ACTUALLY useful. Great job! I love seeing the percentages of drawing for the decklists, and that you understand the pros and cons of 1 card/1.5 card/2 card combos. Very few yugioh videos I've seen are this competent.

The tough thing about playing Ghoti is you have to figure out what your opponent is playing and synchro at the right time. Also, only being able to synchro during the main phase is a big disadvantage especially if you’re playing against Tears who can fusion during the standby phase.

I once used an inferno tempest to banish all monsters in both decks, then summoned Ghoti of The Deep Beyond using Ghoti Cosmos and banished the whole field just to bring him back the next turn with 18000 atk. Good times.

what engine do you think is best? Supay/hop ear Pure ghoti/fish runick ghoti myutant? spright/twin/etc ghoti? Synchron? With Ariseheart coming to MD, im thinking pure ghoti is going to be less viable, especially with all the banish hate to counter Kashitira that will also hit ghoti :/ so im trying to prepare to craft

How are you banishing the level 2 tuners with Arionpos to add the level 6 Snopios? Arionpos can only add fish with an equal or lower level than the banished fish.

I have a bias for Coelacanth, because that's what I have the most fun with. In terms of competitiveness, a pure Ghoti 40 card deck will likely have more success competitively. My 60 card grass deck can loose going second because it lacks handtraps to stop the opponent from building a board. My goal is to bridge the gap between these two. To build a Pure Ghoti deck with 40 cards and 1xCoelacanth that it can search if the opp has no handtraps.

Beung playing ghoti since the release. The deck is goat in so many thing is better than yang zing/crystron in the accel synchro mechanic but the lack of synchro fish not including the ghoti ones is a big deal. Bc an opp that know how the deck plays, how the deck moves and revolves around is a guarantee L for us even if we can establish a strong board in a turn 0. A better pool of option in synchro could make the difference between making the same play of askaan or whale to a wild range of monster that would put the opp to think what could be summon. I'm not criticizing the video cuz you make a great example of what ghoti is, what tech the deck can run and how easy it is for people to play it and win. What i criticize is the strict combo line follows the deck in terms of synchro, hop ear solve a quantity of problems but is one of those could it be or couldn't be in the hand. Also we play in different structures of meta, you play in MD and i Play in physical, so many of the option you give are dead or are not viable at the moment. Still i enjoy the video as a whole to study combos, decklist, compare our ways to play it and the weakness of the deck. I hope u keep making videos of water decks, i became obsessed w fish type and im making my own collection of fish type monster of ygo, maybe someday, konami will give fish more love and use ghoti as a test to make more fish archetype. Give you all my support and hope you keep improving

A level 4 monster that is used to extend your combo, or in this case, special summons itself, like Shthana, Silent Angler, etc.. There's also cards that search for them, like Abyss Shark.

The Meta will always change and there will always be something Toxic to replace the old. You have to find Branded counters, and run like 12. Ash Blossom, Ghost Bell, Evenly, Bystials, probably more. You can also Change of Heart Mirrorjade, then synchro into a lvl 10 monster.
