This is why I give my settlers high end armour and energy weapons. Like high damage Lasers and high damage plasma weapons. That's not including a hundred new turrets that a mod for Fallout brings to the game, or the automatron robots that i have at most of my settlements. I go all fucking out on Defense for my character's people.

Same, although I went extra on my vault (normal settlers had sturdy combat armor with rad rifles while guards have marine armor with fully upgraded handmade rifles)

Dude…. With respect of course, U wanna talk defense? AUTOMATRON DLC. And if u don’t mind mods, get the mod that lets u make your assault ribs and protectrons look like liberty prime. Plus the robobrain head giving better long range accuracy. U can give your enemies the Star Wars seperatist treatment but you’re robots are actually good.

I just assumed the vault door broke down. Remember, they were all overworked because the systems in the vault were so old, worn, and constantly in need of repair. Imagine if one of the huge hinges or bolts somehow snapped or even just shifted. How could they possibly fix that without a lot of time and major industrial equipement? Also, I love when we can recognize some of the named NPCs in the crowd, fighting alongside the nameless guards. I saw the old couple that ran the diner, and that one heavy guy who buys tools from you.

Whoever designed these Vaults was a total incompetent, no emergency shutting doors, no bottle necks to barricade, and so on, these seems more resorts than fortified vaults, the bridges could be rigged to explode in emergency.

I love how somehow the ghouls got into the lower level, despite the only way to get there is either via elevator, or that second vault full of diseased mole rats. I just image a bunch of ghouls stuffing themselves into the elevator, one of them intentionally presses the down button, and then they just stand in silence while the Star Wars theme elevator music version from Family Guy plays XD

This would be a heck of a backstory for a lone wolf character you meet and he has some personalized and slightly more advanced power Armor specifically ment for him seeing as he was the overseer of a relatively more advanced vault, and carrying some nice weaponry..... Could appear to help in a random encounter and if you can pay enough he will join you on your journey. None of his stuff would be removable unless he dies.. Be nice if someone like Clint Eastwood would do the voice. Grizzled and removed. ready for battle at the drop of a hat. Just sayin would make for a great companion mod..

@@crazychase98 Having a unit in reserve is smart. But it probably shouldn't be your best unit, which can hold a choke point like the vault portal. A QRF of 5-6 to respond to breakthroughs of crisis points should do the trick. I guess the idea was once the NPC security force was overwhelmed, the active player goes in and mops up, making for a more exciting video. (We are leaving aside making obstacles that slow the brainless ghouls down, removing the stairs to make it harder to access the doors, rigging explosives like IEDs in choke points or areas where the ghouls mass to cause mass casualties.)

Ngl having a cheap t45 squad with shotguns go in and clear most of the ghouls would be first option and then send in the rest in more sturdy late model t45 and t51’s to clean out the stragglers and retrieve the t45 bodies.

Was it supposed to be the Overseer or the Sole Survivor stepping in finally at the end? I assume the overseer, realistically, and I mean game realism, not actual realism, it would be the player because I'm pretty sure that Overseer McNamara would've immediately joined the battle like the others. lol I want to say that I appreciated actual Fallout 4 music and other fitting music being used in the video. I used to watch Redoran Guard's Skyrim battle videos, but they were so heavily modded and used random, unfitting music... and they didn't like me providing negative feedback and proceeded to argue with me, finally banning me from the comments when they couldn't win the argument. Real mature.

This reminds me, I hate how overplayed feral are in fallout 4. It’s gotta be hundreds of ferals to every 1 sentient ghoul. I call bs that any of those ghouls could exist in a society. The ratios are nothing like that in previous fallout titles. Seriously, both ferals and super mutants are displayed in a way that clearly makes the brotherhood right about them. This is in direct contradiction to all previous fallout titles. Cool as hell fight scene though.

Comparing the FO4 feral ghouls to the ones in 3/NV; I like their moving animations but I wish the reavers looked as terrifying as in 3/NV.
