I am really proud young adults moving back to Africa to help build the future of our beloved continent especially Ghana. The Lord Bless you all. Ladies, I love the whole cultural revival educational ethos and almost became emotional with the whole destruction of our culture by our own folks and our own educational system. We have to promote our own cultural diversity. Looking forward to seeing such a school with emphasis on our local languages and make punishment speaking vernacular a thing of the past.

Dentaa, you're doing a great job 👍 👌 👏 with all these diasporans interviews. Some of us did some of our education in Ghana top it up in the UK. However, ours is the reverse, because we are stucked here in the UK, trying desperately to relocate to Ghana. It's becoming extremely difficult to do that so any time I hear these conversations with returnee diasporans, my immediate reaction is why don't you go now, Ghana is so beautiful and you're wasting your time with these stressful environment. The impact of the diaspora goes as far back as the birth of the nation. Nkrumah and Danquah were exposed to the West. Kwame was from the Diaspora, so was Busia. Almost all our leaders have some experience in the diaspora - Kufuor, Nana Addo, Limann etc. The experiences of the diaspora is the return the country gets from the brain drain it suffers. Like Naomi said, we all need mutual respect. Like Osibisa sang " come with me back to the promised land..." the diaspora is coming home and nothing will stop the movement. that comment that denta read out i have to say i couldn't agree more with it. its all well and good moving and setting up business but if you are selling unhealthy food, or setting up a business which isn't conducive to society it really needs to be rethought. the capitalist mindset needs to be dropped at the airport before arriving in Africa, the western model DOESNT WORK , why try to replicate the things you wish to leave behind? based on the logic of "they are making money in a legal way" what if someone wanted to set up a Ladbrook's or paddy power (gambling) on ever street corner, or a brothel? it creates lots of jobs and will make the owner rich BUT what benefit does it bring to the community as a whole. We should try to conduct business in an ETHICAL way or it will lead to Africa facing the same issues we are trying to get away from. Africa should modernise but in a way that holds dear to African values and traditions. those curriculums need to be torn up and have more of an Afrocentric content. pan Africanism should be the base for all curriculums in schools. Theres nothing wrong with constructive criticism

By their initial logic, which seemed based in immediate defense of their fellow diasporian we might as well let britain modernise ghana in the name of capitalism. I thought they would say that they get the comment but its misplaced on their fellow diasporian. Instead we get "everything in moderation" like everybody is them and the food industry isnt exploiting people and turn them into addicts easy😂. None of the points were actually addressed in terms of people intrest in money OVER their roots initially. They were triggered but I get it. Minus that I get what the comment was saying. Some diasporian will use this as an opportunity to make money more then connecting but that isnt too bad in my opinion because there are, like denta said a lot benefits and if they create family they will be just like any other ghanaian cause money might have been the motivation but Ghana has the advantage of culture and people diasporians are not finding in west so that's really what will help people gear more towards panafrican goals for their family and the community they employ despite having this capitalist hunger some of them show. With that hunger I am referencing the need for many to create jobs and business. They will still do it with locals and it will stay in ghana with ghanaians which includes them and that will always be good. They are smart and aware of the pitfulls, like you see at the end. Even if it might not seem that way if some comments throw them off a bit.

Coming back to Africa is a great initiative. However we need to mention that locals have a problem with diasporans whether it's bringing ideas or starting something new. They will literally fight you because there is this notion "diasporans thinks they are better than locals and think they know it all" To the last line "every person needs a living whether through a business or being an employee itself" I watched the interview with fish and chips shop all ingredients were natural from the potatoes to the fish.. How can fried fish cause obesity. I hope if this person migrates he can sleep not work or start a business, not make money. 🙄
