Great review! I really appreciate the facts from the comics, including the DDP run. A lot of people usually leave those out. I had Jinx back in the day. I was sixteen and still collecting Joes. I have her preordered and can't wait to get the new figures.

I love how she turned out I didn't want her to look like the retro one she looks like she's wearing pajamas and a mask that's to big for her. I love the sleeker sleeveless sexyer version. This is the exact look I wanted. Just need to add a strap to her sword. Hasbro needs to start adding straps to back packs.

I remember I bought the og Jinx in Woolworth’s in Spotsylvania Mall. I picked her out because red is my favorite color and because I had lost Scarlett and I wanted another lady Joe. A Jane? I still have her somewhere, but I’m looking forward to having the Classified version in hand on Friday!

@@BaldyLockzI’ve studied Japanese martial history for 30+ years. Been there a bunch of times. It’s not a real weapon. And certainly would not be called a naginata. I’m a member of a Koryu sogo bujutsu, and a gendai martial art for decades. Historically didn’t exist in Japan.

@@BaldyLockz I mean Hasbros website says release date is august 1st. I heard on Sunday evening that people were finding them already on the shelfs at some Walmarts. I looked at Walmarts website and they are only up for pre order with a release date of Aug 1st so I didn’t think no more of it and then around 11 that night I friend text me a picture he was at Walmart and had the whole wave in his cart and said they had 3 or 4 of each character from the wave Sans night creeper so I went there the next day after work and sure enough there they were so I bought one of each and left the rest for the next guy🤷🏻 I don’t really get how Walmart is selling these a month before anyone else (but only in stores not on there website) it’s weird and I’m surprised no one has done a video on this yet and it’s not more of a talking point

We have to stop calling it a naginata. Just like they updated the figures from their original inception in order to be more believable or cooler or functional for the Classified line, we should update our speach to have non-ignorant nomenclature.

Sadly ignorance spreads like a malaise and this weapon being called a naginata has taken root with those less interested in facts. Jinx's weapon defies normal identification, but it's certainly not a naginata.

I think it’s a total hybrid weapon and doesn’t reflect anything specific in history… Fangtian Ji is closer than a naginata, however, it’s also not double ended.

When I was a small boy, I was really sad that I had no idea about Jinx until it was too late. Why was it always males?! 🤨 If there are no females, what do the guys have to prove, who are they protecting, who are they fighting over? What damsel are they rescuing from the clutches of impending doom?! 😯 I would stare at the catalog leaf from 1987 and pine away at so many figures that I missed! The coolest ones, including Jinx. I'm making the dream come true this time around. I got my Outback, Croc Master, and Tunnel Rat! I was about to get that Storm Shadow v2, but it's not right! I got the v1 already, and Commando Snake Eyes.🎉🎉🎉

good review bro I agree that class is and should have differences with retro I don t like the n creepers s purple, and no Cobra logo... I d want dark blue, or c red WITH a logo Voltar, Darklon, circus colours.... give us dark grey, or dark red retro can be as they were, ridiculous. the packaging it looks good to me, perhaps best ever, except... I miss the locker and accessory bag, the plastic now is super tight, to the point where I fear breaking weapons or else. I never was zealous about the window either, but, I appreciate to see torso - head the art is light years from some butchy drawings in early releases though, much better! pfff, those comic - cartoon references... just the Billy name makes me nauseous, who ever thought I d want to know about a CC son? there were about 40 characters released by that time, I want to know about those! I want Rambo - commando comics, not this soap.... I stick to the files, as long as they don t inspire from the comics - cartoons. oh yeah, we re at this point where face sculpts sell figs I don t want her red, but green camo, but even then I m tempted because she looks amazing, she even has some make up... I did nt get her in the 80s, I was more picky at that period too much joes, not enough cobras, and had enough ninjas already I think it was ok before the ferret and valkyries, military is like racing, very few women... it has to reflect life, not an agenda.... illusions, deception. I put my women in safe places, they get hurt, but don t get killed... I admit I learned a new thing with these Japanese women warriors, and I know quite a lot. aside from Pytona, which is a mysterious mystical and exotic type of woman, only Destro s faction could improve by getting a new woman no, Baroness stays with Cobra... you can never leave Cobra ever... I really appreciate the dif posing and comparisons at the end, great finish! so now you know... good show bro

Interesting perspective, you dont like the comics or cartoons, just the file cards, and of course you know the cards are based on Larry hamas bios, that he used to inform the character depictions in the comics, It kinda seams like your not that into "Gi joe" but are more a military enthusiast, thats cool, And I enjoy that perspective , but you might be in for alot of disapointment with GIjoe, As it is military ,but also has a long history of being very different to a "commando comic". IF I were you I might focus on customizing GIjoes to your liking . That would be cool to see. or Find a line that focuses more on "real life military" like ultimate soldiers or vintage 60s joes. The Classified line references heavily the Arah era of gijoe , which is less a reflection of real life military, And more of an example of an ultimate friend group wrapped in a military context. The Brand found huge success in visualy depicting both military specialty/skills, and personality and background traights, This is why we get less od green and camo uniforms/prodtctive gear, and more "costume " decisions that show individuality. While Jinx wearing bright red wouldnt make sence in a real life military op, It does alot to tell us about her background / personality and speciality. WIthout needing to even read the file card. In the Arah, and now classified context the personality depiction will often out weigh the combat reality. This is how Baldys Grandmother was able to show him that He can be proud of the strong woman that are in his family, and that he could bring there traits and values into his own moral development. The depiction of woman in gijoes military isnt so much about an agenda to get woman into combat, Its more about examples of stong moral traights that can be emulated by people regardless of physical form. The Idea is for us to be able to see the personality inside the uniforms. So we can relate to the types of people our military is made up of. IM not trying to poo poo your perspective on gijoe, Or even say my perspective is correct, Lots of ways to enjoy the Brand, But just offering some perspective I found helpfull in tempering expectations.

More females for sure. Not many more left from the 80s: Pythona and Blonde Covergirl from cartoon. More options from modern stories: Dawn Moreno Bombstrike, Zanya, Crimson Asp… Tgey could do more repaints like a Python Patrol Valkyrie or Crimson Valkyrie. We kind of know Heart Wrencher is coming in a Walmart two pack with Falcon. More variations like a Ninja Force Scarlett or maybe an Arctic Baroness. Oh there is the 60th anniversary Marine coming as a lady sniper. There’s Raven which many feel will be a stretch goal for the Haslab Rattler. I would like a new character if they wanted like a female Native American or a black woman Samurai with updated techno armor. Actually I want female frog ladies/divers. That could be another Baroness variant as well. I’m welcome to more. I did order Jinx and my disappointment with her articulation and not one Arashikage symbol on her will lead me to modification. That scene in Retaliation film on side of mountain is incredible. The yellow uniform look is cool too. I’m still looking forward to obtaining her.
